My father in law's Doxa, handwind with quick date change (hallelujah!)

He dug it out of some drawer,I have taken it to rehaul, new crystal, new strap and gave it to him.

Few months later he payed visit...and watch was on wrist...with crystal broken in half. Probably bumped it somewhere.

So I gave him brand new vintage styled Marli watch (Marli is local AD for swiss companies that also makes watches.. advertisement stuff with quartz movements but with overall nice designs and decent quality) and again took this for crystal swap.

When he destroys Marli,he will again get this one. Untill then,on wrist.

Looks great. They don't make them like that anymore. Thin, manual wound, balanced.

Have I missed something here, it's this the watch that Blowfish was considering a while back?
blowfish89 wrote:My local watchguy has this watch, which has a Wakmann/Breitling/Venus manual wind movement, and it was a good size and beautiful in real life. If I had the asking $750, I might have bought it.

Assuming he bought it and wild it on to you? Really lovely watch, it's it stainless steel? So many questions ;)

I contacted him about it, he had decided not to buy it, so I asked him if he'd buy it on my behalf, which he did. His price? Easily paid, it was just to let him wear it for a week or two before he sent it on to me. We've bought quite a few of each other's watches in the past, so I figured it was worth a punt. It was. Lovely watch...

I see, nicely arranged and well done all round. I did think it looked something special when Blowfish posted it up so nice to see it found a good home with a fellow forumer. You can't beat a nice vintage twin register chrono.

Seeing that yesterday inspired me to wear my valjoux 7733 today, not as posh as your own but lovely anyway(IMO of course).

A little newer perhaps, but another very nice bi-compax chronograph from back in the day. I'm not averse to a moderately large watch, but honestly, today's companies could learn something from the svelte chronographs of thirty, forty or fifty years ago.
