So you have answered yourself a question.

Keep it. We have a saying "It does not eat or drink" - roughly translated.

7548 is built on 6309 chassis if I recall the history?

Yes, the 6309 was the base for the 7548. Rather than develop it from scratch, they simply used the main chassis and many of the gears/trains are the same, which means it’s quite a large movement for quartz. It is also fully serviceable, rare for quartz. Unlike many, or even most quartz movements, the second hand hits the markers all the way round...

Gary, I'd say definitely keep it. Given how you have described it, if you do sell you may regret it and may never be able to find one again in as good a condition.

This is my other 7548, also from 1981. Not as original as the orange, with a sapphire crystal and green bezel insert. I’ve owned it for some 8-10 years; it’s the only 7548 that I haven’t on-sold eventually. The case is almost as good (it’s had some light polishing done to the case sides, but still mostly original finishes elsewhere.

The green bezel against the black dial , makes for a great colour combination . It's a lovely looking Seiko 7548 , very nice Gary .

Mortima Mayerling from 1970’s

Spontaneous eBay purchase. Remarkable condition for age with only a few minor case/crystal marks, runs OK..ish gaining about 2-3 mins per day.

Caseback doesn’t look like it’s been opened and I’m wondering what I’ll find when I do

Unusual logo and date location, but looks good.
I’ll bet there weren’t masses of people complaining about their location back in the day. ;)

Actually Grafic is one of the rare "cheap" watches that was declared a design icon.

1950ies in origin, with minimalistic Bauhaus influence, it came in few versions of case including automatic and also ladies. Still looks great after all these years.

Mido Ocean Star with monocoque case. Tiny at 34 mm but strong in technical sense. ETA movement inside.
