New Farer Cushion Case Models
Just got an email about these new Farers, they look pretty good I must say with a 38.5mm cushion case. They also confound the main criticism I often hear about Farers...that they have one too many colour.
Not sure about the names - Durham, Mansfield ( ) and Lethbridge. I actually have a friend from Mansfield, although he isn't into watches or I could have recommended that one
[Edit - now added the Stanhope II that I missed in my original post.]

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
The Stanhope II is still the pick of that model for me. I toyed with the idea of getting one, but they look like scratch magnets. Or at least the pre owned ones I saw did! Maybe just careless owners

I don’t really understand it, but much as I love colourful watches, Farer and I just seem to be on different tracks. Strange how the brain works...

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
Farer are appealing more and more to me as a brand. The bold use of colour that seemed to turn me off, like many on here, seems to be gaining traction with me. Some of their models are a little OTT for my tastes, but some are appealingly cheeky.

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
I'm on the lookout for a small seconds watch and signed up to receive the email in anticipation of this release. The muted green 'Mansfield' is gorgeous and has a touch of Laurent Ferrier to it.
Upon first glance I got quite excited, then my eyes were drawn to the green small seconds hand ... why Farer? For me, all the class immediately disappeared.

They may not have the 'one colour too many' but they've still managed to be pretty colourful. The grey / salmon would be my choice.
However, 38.5mm case? I'm not sure that's going to be right for me.

Look forward to seeing that if you’ve gone ahead. Both dial and display back are lovely.

I like the dials, but it would take a while to get used to the cushion/turtle case.
So far, the Resolute and Bradfield are my favorites.

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
I went to WorldTime UK on Saturday; Farer were very much at the top of my list of stands to visit and the cushion case models did not disappoint. Each and every one was a winner in my view.
The Salmon Durham had already sold out of its initial run and the green Mansfield has subsequently also sold out but I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before more are available.
As nice as they all are, I think the Stanhope is still my favourite though.

Agreed, they really all look superb to me. The Stanhope has so much visual interest going on with different textures, patterns and dial features. The case is elegant and so different; my only concern being would you spend your life puffing on it and polishing it.

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
After much deliberation, I should have a parcel arriving tomorrow.
Really looking forward to seeing this Farer model in person and haven't been this excited about a purchase in a good while!
Will post some pics and thoughts once I've received it.

Re: New Farer Cushion Case Models
I also had a parcel arrive but was only able to collect it yesterday. The Farer Durham. In one word: good. In two words: obscenely good. I really can’t find fault with this watch, the quality for the price is spectacular. The dial and case finishing speak for themselves, every detail is sharp and well defined and it wears beautifully. But it’s the little touches that also add up; the brushed ring on the case back, the dial layering, the contempory typeface for the Roman numerals and the sparing use of them. Heck, even the strap clasp is a joy to behold with the polished ‘A’ standing out against the brushed face.StrappedUp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 4:49 pm After much deliberation, I should have a parcel arriving tomorrow.
You’re getting the gist, right? It really is an exquisite watch.
