I don't have toys as fun as Korkki's but the snow that fell last weekend certainly made the daily commute more... interesting. This is from last Monday when I left work early enough for there to still be enough daylight for a picture.

Took the new Sirrus out for its first test ride this afternoon. Haven’t ridden since last July and only managed two rides all last year! That’s the reason I’ve bought this bike. I’m fully intending to cycle to work, as frequently as I can.

It’s a flat bar, 1 x 8 drivetrain with 700x42mm tyres, so a little slower than the bikes I usually ride. Having said that, considering how out of practice I am, I wasn’t too far off the pace of my last two rides!. Mind you, they were way, way off my previous besterest! :lol:

Took the opportunity to ride down a canal path too, being as I have the correct equipment now. :D

Thanks Neil. I’m rather pleased with it. It’s much nicer to ride than my old hybrid. I think it’ll make the ride to work ( I’ll still be a fair weather biker) a little more enjoyable than I expected it to be. Once I get the fitness level back up to where it should be, that is.

@Thermexman

Our side by side statistics for 2022 are pretty poor aren't they? Whilst you racked up 33 miles I managed 90.

I can't blame it entirely on waiting for my hernia operation but I'm also determined to do much, much better this year.

Your talk of looking at stats, led me to finding this again. Don’t think I’ll ever match this ride from 2014 and still can’t believe I managed it. I’m very proud of achieving it though.

Excellent achievement.

My best is 50.8 miles and that was on an electric bike.

Correct, Guy. The V85TT. It was initially considered a left-field choice for a hard-working (30,000 miles a year) bike but my group has now had several and they have proved incredibly robust and reliable. I think it's the ideal bike for the task - comfortable, easy, nippy enough and fun to ride with reasonable running costs.

In fact, very similar (identical) to my own bike. :)

Full of admiration for what you and your fellow blood bikers do.

I'm still waiting for the weather to change to enable me to go out on a few adventures.

Aye, there’s no doubt that biking is more enjoyable in decent weather, although yesterday wasn’t too bad and it was good to get out having not ridden for 12 days or so.

However, bring on the spring!
