Invicta 1953
I wanted to get one of these in 2020, but they were sold out worldwide.
Back in stock at €120 it seemed rude not to.
The nh35 is running within COSC specs.
Any questions just ask!

Re: Invicta 1953
Invictas are not normally my cup of tea but that is a good looking watch for not a lot of money.

Re: Invicta 1953
They’ve just released a decent quartz chronograph that looks ok, but otherwise the rest of their range holds no interest to me.
This is a delightful little bugger, however.

Yes. I got an email the other day (the automatic) and put a note about this in the Bargains thread. They have a couple of alternate bezel colours as well. Just One More Watch reviewed this some months ago very favourably, but there were no stocks for quite a while.
I just received mine this morning. (The black on black automatic). paid 120Euro, converted to £113, I expected to pay some import duties, but there weren't any, so that was a nice Brucie bonus.
I presume there's a similar VAT deal to the CW seem to have for sales going the other way. Its helpful if dealers can manage the VAT without buyers having to get involved.
[edit - stickers removed, two links removed, time set, very pleased.
They even put my date of birth on it. 1953. How's that for service]

I just got an email from Watchgecko for a Henwick single-pass nato strap
https://www.watchgecko.com/henwick-sing ... nato-strap
The pictures show the strap on a Tudor, which looks very similar to this Invicta. The hands are a bit different, but quite similar.

@SimonGermany
Normally I would run a mile from an Invicta watch, but in this case I'd advocate that's €120 well spent, Simon.

Re: Invicta 1953
They called it single-pass Nato. It's probably more meaningful to a casual shopper than a Perlon.
It's got preformed holes, so is it technically a Nato, or a Perlon?

The Invicta
The Kermit and the Tango alternatives (my descriptions) are at the bottom of this page, Same price.
When you buy one, they seem to offer you a box as an add-on. I thought my watch might be shipped loose because of it, but it still comes in the Invicta yellow box, so the additional box they offer must be something else.

Re: Invicta 1953
It's good to see that Invicta can make a nice watch when they want to. I own one, and from a VFM perspective, they are a decent product. It's one of the only non-Rolex date magnifiers I've seen that's actually decent.
Looks like they even left the silly engraving off the side of the case.
Now if they would only stop with the ridiculous "MSRP" prices that don't actually exist.

Re: Invicta 1953
Many thanks all for the kind words.
I wondered if I should don my flame suit for posting about an Invicta but it does seem this has hit the spot.
You are correct, it is missing the standard Invicta engraving on the side of the case. Thank Christ.
I didn’t like the other bezel colourways. The only changes I would make:
-gilt the numbers on the bezel
-make the bezel triangle at 12 red
Basically make it full-on Black Bay 58.

Re: Invicta 1953
It's not supposed to be a BB is it, it's supposed to be a homage to the very first Rolex sub dating from 1953.
Is that what the BB was - a reissue of an old Rolex?
@simongermany
I don't think you need a flame suit. Jody on JOMW gave this a really good writeup in March 2020 (a long while back anyway), and said stocks weren't to be found anywhere. I registered on Invicta, and just had an email a few days ago to say they had a few "very limited quantity" they called it, and grabbed one. Mine has gained about 6 secs in the first day. {edit. Oh dear, I need to learn to tell the time. It gained 13secs on day 1, not 6]

Re: Invicta 1953
Yeah, I see what you mean.
It was just a suggestion, bearing in mind that they have introduced some new bezel colours etc that I really don’t like (sometimes it seems that Invicta just can’t help themselves)
With the gilt minute track, hand and dial script I thought gilt numerals on the bezel would work slightly better, perhaps, and then a flash of red round the bezel pip could look funky. Maybe the 1953 AUTOMATIC in red too.
Anyway, it’s all good. Hopefully they’ll do a proper automatic GMT homage to the Black Bay GMT, that could work well.

Re: Invicta 1953
By the way mine is at +1/day. Just unbelievably good for a cheap movement. Hopefully it stays that way.
