A much better photo from the CWE Facebook Group.
Much more how it should look to my mind.

Is it wrong that I think this watch seems a perfect match with a Corvette? Neither a Vette nor this watch are my cup of tea.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 4:01 pm A much better photo from the CWE Facebook Group.

Not wrong at all, but the Abyss would be a better match with the Batmobile.jkbarnes wrote:Is it wrong that I think this watch seems a perfect match with a Corvette? Haha! Yes! That's the perfect match for this watch.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 8:42 pm Not wrong at all, but the Abyss would be a better match with the Batmobile.

UPDATEBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 3:51 pm Declan @ CW made contact with me this morning.
He has got a C60 Abyss SH21 to use for the showroom, and I've got an appointment booked for this Thursday morning @ 11:00am.
. . .. . . . . . . .
Declan contacted me on Wednesday evening with some photos of the C60 Abyss SH21 he was due to show me on my Virtual Showroom appointment, which he thought I might like to see.
Here are a selection to show the watch under different lighting. Firstly under bright artificial light in the showroom
Then outside in daylight, not sunny.
Following on he told me that, primarily, the reason he was sending me the photos is that the C60 Abyss SH21 he thought he had to use for the showroom, had been snaffled and had to be sent off for a photo shoot.
This meant that he would not be able to show it to me on the Virtual Showroom appointment, hence the photos, but that he had got another watch to show me if I wanted to go ahead with the appointment.
I said, yes please and we duly had our Zoom Conference call on Thursday morning.
What was the watch he had to show me you might be thinking.
Now that would be telling, but if you hang on a day or two you'll find out.
One thing that Declan told me though, is that they (CW) had gone to great lengths to ensure they have what they feel is the best combination of stealth and legibility with regard to the Sapphire Dial and case back i.e. not too dark, nor too light; so as to show off the detail of the SH21 movement whilst retaining the dark, stealth look.
NB> Remember the hands and markers are the same as the regular C60 Abyss i.e. polished but gunmetal pvd coated.

Thanks for posting the update, Guy. I look forward to seeing whatever it is you’ve bought.
It surprises me that the hands and markers are the same as the regular Abyss, they look darker. Perhaps that’s the effect of the translucent dial

Re: C60 Abyss SH21 now on the website
With these pics it now looks like the sapphire dial on this one is definitely more transparent than the C60 sapphire dial, detrimentally.
The hands work on the standard abyss because the background is a matte black. The brighter shiny bits of the movement show a little too much here and the hands get lost. Or maybe it’s because the sapphire is reflective like the hands? In any case, a little too much going on for me but I’m sure it’ll still sell well to those who like a little flashiness.
I’ll wait patiently to see what you’ve got, Guy!

Very much my thinking too.

Re: C60 Abyss SH21 now on the website
Thanks for posting Guy.
This is going to be my first CW for about four years I think. These are the best pics I’ve seen so far and I am more confident that I will be keeping it now.
I completely take on board the comments about legibility but that is not a concern for me in the slightest. I can spare the extra second to adjust my wrist a little if it is a problem in a certain light and I feel it’s worth it to see the movement. My biggest concern is the height and unfortunately these pics don’t alleviate that. I’ll have to wait n see on that one.
Did your communication with Declan cast any light on when they might be ready for delivery ?
Don’t keep us in suspense too long !

@Andyshall - To answer your question about delivery / order, Andy. Initial orders have been fulfilled by the 1st batch that came in ten days or so ago. It's now a case of waiting for the next batch due end December.
Mine? Why Deep Dark? How come I was able to get it?
Simples.
Its a Prototype / Pre-production model on which the dial and caseback are darker than the ultimate production version.
In the meantime, hooray, some sunshine this morning. Its good for the soul.
Having difficulty getting this off my wrist. It looks good on the bracelet, but absolutely fabulous on a Hirsch Grand Duke.

Re: C60 Abyss SH21 now on the website
I can tell from your pics that the dial is a little darker, and I think that helps it legibility/cohesiveness wise. Or maybe I only think I can tell, because you said so? Would be nice to hold them side by side in person.
In any case, that strap looks like it’s made for this watch. Looks great!

Re: C60 Abyss SH21 now on the website
Email received this morning.
When I spoke to them last week to try and organise a change to the bracelet they said the watches were not due in the country until the 28th Dec and would then have to undergo QA.
Still concerned that it might be too thick but looking forward to seeing it.

Re: C60 Abyss SH21 now on the website
I have one of these, it arrived 20/12 and I have to say I absolutely love it. I have relatively small wrists but this doesn’t feel anything like as big as I though it might. I don’t find any problem in reading it in pretty much any light. Yes, it might take a little more than the glance that other watches require but it doesn’t bother me at all.
And as for accuracy well it’s spot on. It’s been 8 days now of largely constant daytime wearing and it’s never been more than a second or so either way. Right now it’s perfectly in sync with the radio controlled clock it was set by on the 20th.
