Re: Coronavirus

Post by Bungle-ator »

Well it's been a fun November. It started with the 9 month old being sent home from nursery with a temperature and them insisting he get tested so that put us all in isolation. It came back clear and the day he returned to nursery the 6 year old wasn't allowed to go to school due to a teacher in his year group testing positive. Two weeks of isolation for him.

Just over a week later the wee one is sent home from nursery again, this time due to a teacher having a positive test result. A few days later he shows symptoms of a cold, and a couple of days after that the Mrs and I started getting covid symptoms. 3 positive tests later.....

It's been a week of chills, fevers, runs, headaches, stuffy noses, vomiting, and sleepless nights. Not to mention how foul everything tastes. The wee one just has a runny nose so that's all good and the Mrs is faring slightly better than me.
It appears I've got the man-covid version.

I feel bad for my 6 year old more than anything as it was already tough for him to isolate for two weeks, never mind 3.

Anyway, if anyone wants to come to a covid party tonight in Maidenhead 😂

Hear, hear!

I can understand the frustration. I have been called into work on a number of days now to cover for colleagues isolating at home. In every case they have been fine, no symptoms and tested negative, but they were pinged by the app.

Cheers bud, we're mostly recovered and I was due back at work on Monday. There's a "new" case at the little ones nursery and whilst they want to try and tag it onto the last one so the kids don't have to isolate but I doubt public health England will go for it. He's not in on Monday anymore and the reality is he'll probably be off for another fortnight. It seems this virus doesn't want me to earn a living.
