Re: Seiko SNK809?
I’ve got that very model. It was my introduction to automatic movements. Mine was a gift. If memory serves, it was purchased from either Amazon or maybe Overstock.com. At the time, the prices were cheaper than what I see them selling for now. It can usually be had on Amazon.
Good luck!
Good luck!

It is £76 on Creation Watches for the bracelet version. If you use the code MANONTIME you will get an additional £5 off so £71...a deal and a half!

Plus 20% VAT on import to the UK I take it?Thegreyman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 8:52 pm It is £76 on Creation Watches for the bracelet version. If you use the code MANONTIME you will get an additional £5 off so £71...a deal and a half!
Still a bargain at under £100.
Mind you, its worth reading the small print with Creation to check what you are getting i.e. does it include full box and papers?

Re: Seiko SNK809?
If you’ve bought from Creation before Guy, they give you the option of sending the watch “flat packed” I.e. without box and you won’t pay VAT or you can get full B & P and will pay VAT. For a cheap Seiko, option A can be more attractive.

I've not bought from them before Patrick, but recall previous discussions.Thegreyman wrote:If you’ve bought from Creation before Guy, they give you the option of sending the watch “flat packed” I.e. without box and you won’t pay VAT or you can get full B & P and will pay VAT. Your options are familiar. I wonder what the declared value / content is with the 'flat packed' option.
But yes, Option A for a cheap beater would be the way to go.

Guy, I believe they may have a partner outlet in ROI which is how they can offer that option.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 1:12 amI've not bought from them before Patrick, but recall previous discussions.Thegreyman wrote:If you’ve bought from Creation before Guy, they give you the option of sending the watch “flat packed” I.e. without box and you won’t pay VAT or you can get full B & P and will pay VAT. Re: Seiko SNK809?
Ah makes sense. I've come across that sort of thing before with a watch or other item from China.
Maybe a search around the Forum will give me a bit more information about experiences with Creation.

Creation Watches - no import fee's and a bit more information, mostly on page 2, in Decision, decisions, decisions.....
. . . . . both threads from around the same time nearly three years ago, December '17.
Of course, it is always possible that Customer Service and method of operation have changed in the intervening period.
