New straps for my reverso

Post by stefs »

Having never been over keen on the brown alligator strap my jlc came with I have finally looked at a couple of other options.
A vintage blue was bought first which sets off the blued hands very well and then today I received the same strap in a vintage brown. Both were bought to be as close as possible to the casafagliano straps that are being used on a lot of the current reverso range.
Very pleased with both. Here are some pics....what ya reckon?

I don't care much for the vintage brown Paul tbh.....however the blue looks absolutely superb, and looks like it fits the deployant nicely

They both look wonderful. I’ll be honest, I dismissed the blue out of hand when I read it. But then I saw the pics! The blue looks better than the brown.

I think the brown gives the watch a very classic and understated look. While that punch of blue gives it a very modern look, befitting the watch’s Art Deco aesthetic.

Wait a minute, does that watch have two faces?! I thought a Reverso was simply about reversing the watch to protect the face? Am I incorrect in that belief or do they simply offer a model with two faces in addition to a single watch face?

Your watch is extraordinary!

The blue is epic, looks good on the deployant. The brown looks like it has a nice worn-in character, it would go well with a pair of jeans. I love a Reverso and this is a corker, well done.

Snazzy is an understatement! This is my new “what watch are you dreaming about now” watch. I think I’ll take this over as GMT...assuming the two faces can be set to different times, that is.

You are wrong.... that upper button is to move the black face an hour at a time while The movement keeps going so you can very easily set two different time zones. A very nice gmt

In that case I'm even more impressed.

The brown is quite nice but the blue is the standout winner IMHO.

The brown is very nice Paul, a great choice. The blue however, is a stunner. IMO it makes the watch look very different and much less traditional. A nice pair to swap between as the mood takes you.

While the OEM brown is not bad, I much prefer either of the other two, but I’ll bet it’s comfortable...

Two lovely straps there! I think the brown works very well with the dark dial, and the blue with the light dial. That watch is magnificent, imo, one of the very best I've seen on the forum. That Reverso would look good worn on a piece of masking tape.

Both really work well.

On balance, the brown strap is likely a little more versatile. Where did you get the blue one? Is it available with different colour stitching?

I am looking for a gingerbread colour strap for my one.
