Neil’s post has put my gin-fuelled brain in riddle mode.

Shouldn’t be too difficult…

My first’s not in football yet always in sport,
My second’s in reason but never in thought,
My third as a variable number is seen,
My fourth is the crux of the number sixteen,
Of Henry the Fifth is my fifth the first letter,
My last is my first; can you do any better?

Bugger riddles. Here's a watch. I went to the Bvlgari AD yesterday and may have found my new grail. It is third on my list after the next CW Apex whenever that appears, an Omega Cal 321 and then this. The Armin Strom may have to wait a few years. Even with my relatively unhairy arms these are arm hair pullers but they are sooooo beautiful.

Good try, Patrick.
There is no M in Reason
Line 5 is a bit tricky
I suppose it could be a vintage Smiths, but not one of those TF jobbies!

Try again.

It’s a model, not a make. I’ve referred to it on here before.

Correct!

S is in sport, but not in football
A is in reason, but not in thought
N is often given as a variable
T is often defined as a cross (crux) shape, and is the central element of the word sixteen
O is the first letter of Shakespeare’s Henry V - “O for a Muse of fire...”
S is the first letter and also the last.
