Congratulations to CW, you know that you have made it when companies are producing homages of your watches.

It is pleasing to note that...
They are one that shouldn't be missed out. Always at your affordability and not forgetting the standards.
And...
The humble beginning starts with the Bronze Trident C65
More to come perhaps – not quite so humble?

Glad they're taking the job of ripping off CW seriously if even the website copy is near-indistinguishable!

Comes in blue and green too. Green looks nice.
Four CWs and too many others to list!
And loads of clocks.
And bicycles.

Interesting choice of watch to copy.

I wonder if the recent CW clear outs, resulting in lots of manual wind C65s flooding eBay, have given the impression that these watches are super popular?

These were released in an unsuspecting world, ages ago. Not homages, just blatant rip offs.

My blue/steel C65 hand-winder is a keeper and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Not flooding ebay that's for sure.

That said, Apexrare (horrible name) does come out of the Lugyou "stable" and they actually make decent watches. A mate has one under their new Cronos brand name and it's a really nice watch....

Given CW are a value proposition and keep overheads low, I wonder what companies offering homages do to make money, even lower margins? Even lower overheads? My guess is probably lower quality to achieve the price.

I’ve got nothing against homages per se, but homages of lower value Seiko and now CW seems an unlikely business proposition, I mean CW is already niche, how more niche can you get!

^^^Niche is an anagram of “chien”. It actually means kennel in French!

Interestingly, it’s also an anagram of “Chine”.

Whatever. :problem:

The trident copy has been discussed before. There's even a thread or two on this over in the other brands section.
