Compressor in the wild!
Well, here it is. A Super Compressor in the wild.
Absolutely stunning! The execution and quality is superb! It’s simply gorgeous.
And there-in lies my dilemma.
I’m not sure if it’s a little too blingy for me? I’m a tool watch sort of guy, which is why I like the Compressor style but can’t help thinking this is a little on the dressy side? Need to have a think.
The colours are gorgeous and the triangle on the bezel matches the hands perfectly, whereas, on the website, it looked more of a mismatched red? That thought irked me somewhat but I needn’t have worried.
The dial looks small, as I suspected it would, which means it looks a little crowded at first glance. It certainly has that retro vibe though, especially with the boxed crystal. This one’s going to be a difficult decision!
Anyway, here’s what you’ve really been waiting for:

Re: Compressor in the wild!
It looks amazing. The dial is stunning and balanced nicely thanks to moving the name and omitting a date window. Personally I think you've got a cracking watch, it's not blingy just something different. Look forward to seeing more pictures

Re: Compressor in the wild!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, because I recoiled in revulsion when I first saw this watch, but it actual looks really good in the flesh! Your pics definitely present the watch far better than the pics on the CW site. I think my favorite detail might be that domed crystal. I’d really like to see real world pics of the black sand dial.
Great pics! Thanks for posting them.

It is actually quite stunning in the flesh and the quality of the build and finish is excellent.

I'm quoting this post rather than your first one so as not to fill this thread with repetitions of the same photos.Thermexman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 7:27 pm It is actually quite stunning in the flesh and the quality of the build and finish is excellent.
If you're uneasy about the bling quotient, are you saying you wish you'd gone for the other dial colour, black sand?

Re: Compressor in the wild!
I think it looks very attractive but I very much understand what you mean. For a tool watch it is very dressy. PersonallyI like it a lot. The colour looks great in real life pictures as well.
Does that lower text look centred correctly? It looks like the top line is too far over to the left compared to the wr figures. Maybe just an optical illusion!
A very nice addition (if you keep it Steve!)

Cheers now, Paul

It’s funny that you mention this. There’s a long running thread about this over on the TZ forum. I wasn’t intending to post this picture here, but because you’ve brought it up
This is a photo from the W&W review of an actual watch with two diagonals superimposed to illustrate text alignment on the dial

Re: Compressor in the wild!
You’re right, in that It may look less blingy but I’m not sure I’d enjoy the brown dial? I know it’s “black” but it’s really brown in my eyes!tikkathree wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 7:40 pmIf you're uneasy about the bling quotient, are you saying you wish you'd gone for the other dial colour, black sand?Thermexman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 7:27 pm It is actually quite stunning in the flesh and the quality of the build and finish is excellent.

I like it a lot. I think it would be a keeper for me. Yes, it has a few shiny elements but there's nowt wrong with that.

Thanks for all the excellent photos Steve. It looks very good in the metal. Reinforces my thoughts that this watch will be a big seller for CW.

Congratulations, Steve, it’s a fabulous looking watch. For me there is plenty to admire without the bane of desire.
