Congratulations. A great looking watch.
Enjoy your retirement.
Although a normal Moonwatch is stated as 42mm it is only 40mm across the bezel. Wondering what the Apollo 8 comes in at and also the lug to lug?
Neil

The thickness and L2L are fairly modest relative to the diameter so I would expect it wears well for the size.malvern_man wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 4:13 pmHi Neil,

Thanks. 49mm L2L sounds good.malvern_man wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 4:13 pmHi Neil,

What I was driving at is that when Omega state a Moonwatch at 42mm it includes the bump on the right hand side of the case. 44.25 on yours is measured in the same way (I think).
Hence my reference to a Moonwatch effectively being only 40mm (When measured excluding the bump).
I.e. what is the case size of the A8, measured from 6-12, which is the true representation of the size and how it would wear.
Cheers.
Neil

Re: I've Gone To The Dark Side ( My Retirement Watch )
It's funny. I haven't tried on a speedmaster racing at 44.25, but I saw a picture with a tape measure measuring the bezel as less than that size. I read somewhere that omega include the crown in the size, but it's hard to find out for sure. I was concerned that 44.25 would wear too big, but maybe it doesn't. I have tried on a speedmaster professional nominally 42mm, but it didn't occur to me to actually measure it, or compare it to anything. It didn't strike me as oversized, but I do prefer bigger than 40mm anyway.

These are measurements that I've made the watch to be,
Edge of bezel to end of crown = 44.25mm
Edge of case (bump) to end of crown = 46.00mm
From 6 to 12 = 42.00mm
Regards, Chris.

Re: I've Gone To The Dark Side ( My Retirement Watch )
Congratulations on your retirement, I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us on here seem to (and as much I definitely do).
I made a comment in the NCWOTD thread that this is the best looking ceramic watch that Omega make, and while that’s undoubtedly true, it probably sells it short in some way. It’s also the nicest skeleton dial watch I’ve seen and one of the nicest Speedys going. Great choice!
