Cheers Lance.

Now that I've found it, I might wear it more often. As it was, the date was four days behind and it was on the correct time (indicates when I last wore it).

Thanks Neil. One thing I’ve learnt though (and frequently ignore it seems) is that vintage day/date watches can be a bit of a PITA. The date is usually quick change, the day not so often. You need to get to the era of the Lemania powered Mk 4.5 and similar, before quick change days made it to the (Omega) market.

They’re no problem if you wear the watch full time (as most people did back in the day), but for occasional use, I’ve put one back in the box for the next day if it says WED and it’s a Tuesday. :)

Today’s day/date model is this TV dialled Seamaster.

@sidders54 - I got my Glycine 1953 Vintage GMT from Ashfords last week.

Image

Price was sub £400 on which I paid 20% VAT, no duty and UPS's Brokerage fee of £11.50 (paid online even before the package left the USA).

More detail may be found in this link on the GOV.UK website Tax and Duty on Goods sent from Abroad - although it appears to be in the 'Business & self-employed' section the info is good for a private transaction.

Hope that helps.

Guy
