I don't know if this has been posted here before, but just in case:

70% off certain Nato straps. Picked up a bunch for $50.

20% off if you buy 5 or more.

Indeed, I’ve had a little look. I’ve only checked a couple but NN deals don’t seem that great.

One example I’ve seen is the Stowa Fliegeruhr, a NN with Chrono24 24 is £657 plus £24 postage, however brand new from Stowa it comes in at €740, even after the conversion it’s as near as damn it to the same price,if not cheaper depending on exchange rate and how your pay.

Do Glycine always sell off watches so cheap?? I almost broke Downer’s Rule about buying the watch, not the price

Afternoon, there, missF….hope all is well w/ you and yours..no, it seems as if only a few sites(Ashford Watches on the 'net, Glycine Direct & WatchGooRoos on the 'bay) sell Glycines at such large discounts..no one is quite sure as to why, to my knowledge..it seems like other sites sell them at much higher price points..they're quality pieces at these prices..

Thanks , and all the best to you Thunder1 :D
Definitely quality at that price. There are a few watches in there at slightly smaller sizes that I like. It even had me thinking of owning a moonphase again...

Really quite drawn to the Airman GMT Vintage, which seems a no brainer at this price.

Image

From doing some limited research, it looks to be an old/outgoing model; GL0218 1953 Vintage GMT, replaced by the GL0071 Airman "DC4". Although I did find a review of the 1953 Vintage GMT mentioning it being an LE.

I'm confused. Help?

Am i right in assuming 20% VAT and 2.5% import duty on top of the Ashford price? Strangely ive only ever bought watches whilst in a country (if outside EU) or from a private seller and the VAT thing hasnt come into play 🙄😙

I forget what I've bought from Ashford, but from memory they use UPS, charge approx. $30 to post to the UK and you will need to pay VAT to UPS - normally before, but I've known them to deliver and send an invoice a week later. I tend to add 22% to the FX price.

Be mindful that in Ashfords t&c's, officially they will not accept international returns although I've never asked.

Never had a problem with the watch, but they always have a deal on - if a watch isn't part of a promotion it probably will be next time.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Cheers Chris.

All salient points which I had seen. Worth pointing out though.

My one hesitation is if there is a notable Warranty or maintenance issues (thinks GMT hand out of sync). In those circumstances I might have to either use Glycine's UK operation or bite the bullet and go independent.
