Scam/stolen watch?

Post by MarkingTime »

I remember several months back, that someone posted about a problem with a sale on eBay.

I'm not 100%, but think that the watch might now be back on eBay, or the seller at least.

The watch is a C60 Vintage, I won't link it or highlight it further in case there is no issue, but my communication with the seller has me wondering as to the provenance of this watch.

I have managed to glean the serial number from the booklet, but a request for the caseback photo wasn't forthcoming. Again, I won't post the serial number in case I have made a mistake, but if you PM me, I will pass on what info I have.

As with most on here who've had ebay dealings, you really are buying the seller! If your not getting the dialogue or feedback , walk away.

That's the one. Time to get the police and eBay involved.

eBay won't be overly interested, but Action Fraud and the police (your local police) should be.

I'll forward the picture to you.

Is it just me, or could the seller be an idiot. Looking at pics, the model name is blacked out but not the serial number. Surely should be other way around, then he may have gotten away with it. Correct me if I’m wrong.

He is an idiot, as evidenced by my communication with him. He is also provably in the possession of stolen goods.

Sounds very similar to the seller in September - who also happened to sell similar other items eg radios, dvd players etc...
Flagged up with ebay (again) and also updated the police crime number.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

My C65 Anthropocene recently went missing in transit in the UK postal system when it was on its way back to CW. If you see one on a black/orange hybrid strap for sale from a dodgy seller, that may be the one.

Surely CW use DHL for shipping to, and returns from, the USA.

How come yours was in the UK Postal System?

Presumably, you have it tracked as departed USA and arrived in UK (Langley?).

I am outside the DHL service area so not much other choice. Fedex/UPS is very expensive to the UK so shipped with insured Priority Mail. Shipment contained the watch box with C65 on strap and an additional bracelet. Only the bracelet arrived at CW.
