Hello and welcome. The watch has only been out there for a few weeks, so I think it would be a little premature to find them available secondhand at the moment.

You can read about it here in the CW Archive

I have been looking at the sapphire but feel I would be making do rather than getting exactly what I want

Absolutely. Rule #6.

Buy it because you want to, not because you can.

Downer’s original thread was entitled “Learn From My Mistakes?”.
It does rather neatly encapsulate most of the mistakes that many others have made in the early stages of this hobby/passion/obsession.
However, don’t worry. There is still plenty of room to make a few mistakes of your own. :D

I think telling others that they are making mistakes is a bit harsh: if it's part of a journey it has validity even if only for one daft moment of madness. :? :? :?

Actually, I think it was fair in the context. The OP admitted that he was looking at something that would only be second-best, in a way pointing up the view for himself that it would be a mistake.
