Mike France Interview with WatchPro
Mike France had an interesting interview with Rob Corder WatchPro. Despite the introduction of Mr. "French" there are some interesting explanations of some upcoming events and how CW has been functioning during the Covid-19 situation.

Bold step with the TV advertising - I'm sure some will see the ad, but we always fast forward through the ads!

I do hope for the business they've got their advert right.
While prices are down and viewership is up.... I can't help but think of them not even getting the website basics right - how does that transfer (via all the media agencies) into an advert that will drive revenue. Who knows! Looking forward to seeing CW's advert - shame I don't watch much on the Sky channels, (Sky One, Sky Witness) but will keep an eye out when I do.

Re: Mike France Interview with WatchPro
Mike says both "the 30th" and "Friday" in the video.
Re: Mike France Interview with WatchPro
He said the big announcement would be in Loupe, published on Thursday, will be Friday for me though

Yes, Selitta 330 driven. I just googled the movement which comes up as slim/thin automatic.
Turns out we are all 1. Wealthy, 2. Age 25-55 and 3. Curious men.

Re: Mike France Interview with WatchPro
Future sounds promising for CW.
Good interview, although sounds a little David Brent at times!
Slightly confused by the claim that they along with HM Gov are the only business to create TV advert during these times. Sure I have seen many virus related ads on TV, although in some cases repurposed with alternative imagery or voice overs.
Hopefully they also have a spot for an ad to be played which is integrated into catch up too to reach as many as possible.
Interesting to see what Thursday/Friday and the future Volcanoes bring.

Just watched it all the way through. I thought it was a decent interview.
Re. the knowing their customer analysis I am curious as to how they came up with that metric. I do though note that whilst I am now out of their target customer age range, I was within it when I bought most of my CWs.
If I had Sky TV I would watch the advert.

+1 re. customer analysis - I'd love to know how those parameters come about and if they are different from 5-7 years ago. I'm also way out of the target age which might explain my dislike for the present logo although with that as the exception I like many of their designs.nbg wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 4:00 pm Just watched it all the way through. What I did pick up is that if COVID-19 hadn't happened I would soon be looking at the promised 2020 Chronographs. Oh well shame but worse things are happening globally so hopefully they will still appear this year plus there is that special release in September to look forward to.
I'll be watching out for Loupe and the advert on Sky at the end of the week.

Re: Mike France Interview with WatchPro
WatchPro is doing a good job with CEO interviews. Here are some things I picked up
* - Due to be launching 2 x chronographs this week but no movements from Selitta. These will now launch later in the year.
* - Something new coming this week but we all knew that. It's not going to be a chrono though.
* - I wonder what did CW do in Ticino? Straps maybe?
* - Still operating in Biel. Good for CW and SH.
* - Confirmed that cases are made in China. No surprises there.
* - We're (CW customers) not "classic brand ponies" but are "curious men" - lovely phrasing. And, I'm still in their age demographic for a few months.
* - Advertising on Sky will pass me by though. I wonder if they're planning a US advertising campaign? Aren't 30% of their sales in North America now? So, they're not going to go on US TV but will ramp up their marketing campaign in the US. The first volcano goes off on Thursday (30/04/2020) but then something "BIG" will come along (globally) in September. (I'm agog with curiosity).
* - Year-on-year sales + 70% in April? Wow! Helped by new launches but good for CW.
* - No redundancies but three furloughs due to them being high risk individuals. Those who are working are being paid a premium. Invest in people in the best possible way.
Hope this helps, stay safe all.
