Re the heated grips, I found that hand guards made a big difference by taking the wind blast off the hands - not aesthetically great, but easily fitted / removed for summer / winter use.

Clocked up my 10,000th mile on the GS this morning, so I felt obliged to wash the bike when I got home...

Wow!

That's quite a milestone in a relatively short time.

Yeah, the bike is getting a lot of use - no doubt about it. I'm sure the resale value will be taking a hit, but not to worry. :D

You can't put a price on 10000 miles of fun.

Probably not much worse a hit than some of us have taken on flipping expensive watches, and you've probably had more enjoyment for your money :problem:

Indeed Patrick. I’ve swapped one money pit for another.

Longest ride since the knee op. Actually that doesn't bother me at all now, it's just the fight against anno domini and reducing strength!

So here's a pic of the flat bar 1X that I made up in front of one of my favourite views near Wychford. On days like this, I'm always grateful that I can still ride there and really enjoy just being out in the sun.

The view and the bike look lovely Paul.

I like the Drawmer personalisation.

I was out today too but on The Monkey Bike at Compton Abbas (although shut)

I do like the look of the 'monkey'! Never ridden a motor bike, suspect I'm too old to learn now!

Paul

Having only ridden scooters I had to teach myself how to ride my first motorbike 11 months ago.

I practised in Mole Valley Farmers car park for an hour and then got on with it on the road.

You could do it it and learn through a (C)ompulsory (B)asic (T)raining course.
