Re: Non CW of the Day
Thanks, Gary! I with the best for you and your family during these horrible fires. I have lived through three consecutive years of nearby fires here in northern California, and it has been an unnerving experience to say the least.
Best regards,
John

Re: Non CW of the Day
This today and I have so say I have been so impressed for the money. An added bonus is the accuracy. I must have got really lucky as this has gained a total of 5 seconds in the week I have had it!
Cheers now, Paul
Re: Non CW of the Day
^^^^^ I agree about the VFM Paul.
I think the combination of green dial with gilt bits works very well.
Starting off with a strap change for this one. I have decided it’s now gone from my previous view of “sell or keep it mint condition, lock it away for years as so few were produced in the six month production run”, to “sod it, I will just wear it”!
So that’s another one removed from the potential sale pile.

^^ A wise move, I think.
Wearing this today as I prepare a sales ad for my BBR - to make way for a somewhat unplanned acquisition...

^^^^ “somewhat unplanned” Richard?
That may indicate that in retirement much of the stuff re. “Operational planning, analysis and implementation” is now becoming a distant memory!

A chrono to start the day..

It will be interesting to see how you feel about the mass of this on the wrist after spending so much time with the lovely bb58?nbg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 11:29 am ^^^^^ I agree about the VFM Paul.

Yep. A distant memory!
Although, I have to say, a number of my watch purchases (during my working life) were quite spontaneous, with a few being driven by long waiting times in airports... However, in my defence, I'd almost always done my homework in advance - to ensure I knew what I wanted and what I needed to pay to get it. This one is no exception.
Let's just say I was inspired by some of the absolute codswallop spouted in this thread... https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php? ... -a-Bremont.

^^^^^ An excellent brand!
I have enjoyed reading that thread; full of irony!
Many banging on about lack of heritage, supposed dodgy back story, military tie in etc.. as indicative of a manufactured marketing narrative. But doesn’t that just identify them as folk who seem to be heavily influenced by the marketing spin of the brands they do like.
Me I just tend to look at all aspects of a watch and buy it if I like the look, feel and quality relative to the price.

^^^ If irony is a synonym for hypocrisy, then I agree with you.
Some of the posters adopt a crazy position but their views are entrenched, so it is what it is.
For me, I like the three part case, the high quality of the anti-reflective coating, the small details such as the crowns and bevelled lugs, the fact that the leather straps are thicker at the lugs than at the buckle etc, etc. Basically, all the stuff you notice when wearing a watch, rather than what is seen when looking at them from a position on a high horse.
Anyway, hopefully, the new one will arrive tomorrow.
