As long as it doesnt make the design too thick. The Monaco (Calibre 11 - proper one 😁), was my grail for years, love the elegant classic design. When i finally got one I realised I couldn't wear it in comfort due to square case and very prominent wrist bone.
Definitely worth trying the new one, its lovely and i would if i could!

As an aside, I had the 02 movement in a Black 17 Autavia (since flipped) and really liked it, column wheel and vertical clutch, it stands up very well against other 'in house' movements at the price point. I must like it, ive just agreed a deal on this, which is what Im dreaming about at moment:

Selling this was not my finest hour

Got a real hankering for a grey dial watch with a splash of colour and would love to have this back on my wrist.

You’re on the right lines but it’s lacking the pop of a bit of gold

A chance encounter a few days ago, taking refuge from the rain in an AD, resulted in trying on this one. :)

Difficult to capture in the pic, but probably the best blue dial I have tried on.

A touch smaller and this would be the perfect watch. Just fantastic

It is an LE that was initially intended as US market only, but they have now decided to allocate a few to some other countries as well. The blue is completely different to the blue dial on the slightly smaller non date version, that I tried on about 18 months ago.

I ruled out the non date version at the time, as the very narrow bezel made the dial look too big. Strangely the dial on this one doesn’t seem as large.

Thing is I much prefer it to the short list of 5 watches, from which I was thinking of getting one, selling a couple of mine and calling it quits. The point that I didn’t buy it on Thursday when I had the chance, probably tells me subconsciously that I have reached the stage where I am loosing interest and just happy to sell a few that I don’t wear much and stick with what I have, without looking for the next must have wrist trinket.

Were they asking RRP for it Neil, or did discussions not get to that stage?

^^^^^ didn’t get around to discussing price Chris. I tend not to get into any pricing discussions unless I know that I am prepared to buy, there and then. Thinking back I don’t think I have ever bought an expensive watch from any brand, without trying the specific watch on (or maybe a different dial colour using the same case) a couple of times.

However the thought of selling a ubiquitous SS Professional model to buy the JLC was an attractive thought. :)
