Octon Watches

Post by magicman »

Hello there

For a while now I've been looking for an every day automatic watch.
Needs were, that it had to be highly legible, so no date as i cant see it, and not a fan of a cyclops.
I prefer diver style.
So i tried the Gekota diver, but it's just a bit big on me, so i moved on.
Bought a Tissel, but forgot i need 22mm lugs as this was to be my strap dolly, and all of them are 22mm.
And to be honest I've been driving myself mad, it's the no date window that appears to be greatly limiting my choice.
I then found Double O watches, who had stock of a brand I'd missed in my searches, Octon.
I ordered one from David who was a great communicator.
A couple of days later it arrived, and I'm now much more relaxed, no more late nights, searching the internet.
It is a nicely put together package with a quality feel.
I went for the black and gold vintage style, having owned and sold a Tudor Black Bay, i can obviously see it's a homage/copy, which i originally wanted to avoid, but the Tissel attempt was no different (Rolex Homage)
And to be honest it feels pretty good, bit slimmer than the Tudor.
I could do without the lightning bolt second hand, but i can hardly see it from an arms lenght.
Bezel action sweet and winding smooth.

Check out their website.

If I were looking for a holiday watch, which I ain’t, both the blue and the green would be quite funky.

I believe its an Aluminium bezel.
Tools seem quite decent, they've got screws securing the tips.

Kind regards

Thanks Steve! Looks like a super everyday watch and a bit of a strap monster!
