With multiple crowns, this is classic Hamilton.
It seems that Hamilton is on fire, with multiple well-received, vintage-inspired releases, such as the Khaki Pilot Pioneer, the Khaki Field Mechanical or the Intra-Matic. As we’re still in 2019 and still celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Chrono-Matic/Calibre 11 movement, the brand introduces another watch modelled on a glorious watch – and this time, it won’t be for the faint-hearted. Meet the new Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 Auto Chrono “Count-down”.

Re: Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 Auto Chrono
I do like the Hamilton Chronos. I've just bought my 80's vintage 7750 Hamilton but also have thought a few times about buying either the Intra Matic 68 (42mm LE) or the regular Intra Matic (40mm).
That Chrono Matic 50 has quite a distinctive look, I like the unusual case shape and the splashes of red including the pushers. The size does seem to be a problem at a seemingly gargantuan 48.5mm although it's a bit Seiko Tuna-esque in that it has virtually no lugs and is 51.5mm L2L which is identical to a mk1 or mk2 42/43mm Trident. As always would need to be tried on for size.
Price is quite similar to the Intra Matic which is £1,950.

So, Glycine isn't the only brand with a history of questionable offerings...

Was it TAG or Tudor that did those markings on the chronograph sub-dials recently? The look is distinctive but I'm not certain it's very original.

Re: Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 Auto Chrono
Some excellent research done there, Patrick..but come on, as you look upon that very nice Hammy chrono of yours, aren't you more than just a little happy w/ what you have rather than this one?..btw, a similar chrono to yours is up for purchase on Ebay as I write this..the price is somewhat up there..so, take that as a back handed compliment...Thegreyman wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:56 pmPhoto of vintage Hamilton countdown chronoalbionphoto wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 4:09 pm Was it TAG or Tudor that did those markings on the chronograph sub-dials recently? Re: Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 Auto Chrono
The sub dials on the Countdown do have a Heuer Autavia and Soccer (and others) elements to the markings esp the red/orange chevron but other marques also used them a bit in the 60s/70s as seen on pic of the original Countdown above though im unsure of date.
I think its interesting but im still more of a fan of the black and gold Chrono of Patrick's.
