I sold it on ebay 4/3/19 and received an email yesterday from Paypal advising that the transaction wasn't authorised. I've also spoken with the ebay buyer who claims that his account and card was hacked and that the shipping address isn't his address. The 'buyer' seems genuine and I have informed Paypal accordingly, but I'm also aware that I don't know this person.
Fortunately I shouldn't lose out here financially, as I did everything right according to the very pleasant Irish Paypal employee who was still in mourning after the Six Nations result on Saturday! The only negative aspect is it will take a while to unravel between Paypal and the credit card company.
So many hands make light work serial watch buyers you may see this watch appear on ebay or somewhere else - if you do then let me know. The watch was shipped to an address in New Malden KT3 6.
Generally speaking I find ebay a safe place, and I should be financially covered. Apparently this type of fraud will be harder to do from September this year as new security measures will be rolled out.
If you do see the watch for sale, then let me know and I will then pass the information to the relevant organisations.
For ebay transactions always remember to ship to the exact address on Paypal and ideally use a fully tracked service.
