^^^ That, in burgundy, now I've read up about it. Seems the burgundy and purple still haven't landed at the dealers yet though.
I was initially more keen on the burgundy but settled on the classic black as my preferred option. I have tried well over a million dealers to see one in the flesh and have received nothing but blank looks. the purple was binned by longines in the end with the options being the tropical burgundy, black or MOP white

I tried the Timex q this week and seem to be the only person in the watch world that didn't like it. So I've sold it on eBay (well timed sell for £1 offer)

And bought one of these instead which is also popular on the Instagram watch world. And reminds me of my first interest in watches as a kid

Pam 716 - 42mm but the Dubois-Depraz movement sucks in a watch at this price.

Very nice indeed. I like this selection because they are all so different, much like my watch box.

@FatClax - interested in that you have picked the Cincinatti Watch Co field watch.

This has been popping up on my Facebook feed over the last week or so. Certainly an attractive interpretation of the genre and alternative to the C65 Sandhurst.

Tempted at the promotional price it is currently being offered at.

And very much in the spirit of the fantasy/daydream as I see it, Neil.

I must admit that I have occasionally been struck by (forgive the presumption) what is to me the apparently mundane quality of some of the daydream watches.

To use a motoring analogy, as some of us are wont occasionally to do, I would not consider it a fantasy to think about driving with the Mrs (if I had one) “Per Astra ad Asda” so to speak. My “ad Astra” fantasy would be much more likely to feature driving through Tuscany or Provence in a vintage open tourer with Helena Bonham-Carter in the passenger seat.

I am thinking a nice gold TLC for that little job...

Ah, good point. I must confess that I was thinking along the more wholesome lines of Miss Lucy Honeychurch.

Or perhaps even, in a wilder moment, Bellatrix.
