But seriously, there is no point in buying any watch that you are too worried about wearing due to damage. I think this is where CW have a big gap in their services since they do not offer a ' return to as new condition' service that others in this price bracket do offer.

Paul
As part of CW wanting to be get serious, I agree totally that they should be offering such a service, that's the way to translate VFM and longevity into reputation and bring in serious collectors.

In fact I'll add that to the GTG questions.

Well done Guy.

I’m starting to get impatient. One on a bracelet will make its way to me in due course.

I wonder whether the paint on the He valve sticks with more determination on this £3.5K version than it does on its cheaper brethren?

Cheers,

Paul

It would look better if the valve was completely unpainted, including leaving it off the surround. That way when forumites use the watch diving, there is no chance of the paint flaking when they bash the watch on something whilst underwater, or on the dive boat.

Better still would be to leave the valve off altogether, as it will serve no practical purpose. :)

Bingo. The He valve is completely unnecessary considering 99% of divers don't even saturation dive and the watch only goes to 300M.

Ah, but then these boards are full of "I never use the...": mainly chronograph but you could substitute GMT, moon phase, planetarium, sky chart, tide indicator, repeater, alarm or even date! Andy Warhol apparently wore his Cartier Tank because it looked nice. He never actually wound it.

But, and the point is this, we still buy watches with these complications (well, some of us buy some of them).

My car's speedo has a number on it that the handbook steadfastly claims the car can't do...and if it did I could get banged up for trying to prove it. :D

Absolutely agree - it would be far more useful to delete the He valve and replace it with a tool for getting stones out of horses hooves

Then the complication you need is the red flag which has to be waved for motorised transport. (Can't have you scaring the horses don't you know.)

Don't joke about - in Norfolk they still have a man with a red flag walking in front of these new fangled motor vehicles :D

Not my cup of tea but can appreciate what’s gone into it, and nice to see a collaboration with another brand to help CW raise their profile.
