This for an evening at The Ivy for dinner.
Lovely foie gras followed by Pigeon in red wine jus.
Washed down with 2 bottles of chateauneuf du pape.
Well, I didn’t drink them both.
Sounds like a great evening Paul
A place I'd love to visit sometime.

I hope it looked better than that pie with liquor.

Do it Ferg. You won’t regret it. Difficult to book weekends hence it was a Monday night.
Very nice food and sometimes spot a celebrity.

It was a step up admittedly. But don’t knock the national dish of cockney-land.

I’m from the North, some of our local delicacies also hold a very limited appeal so I shouldn’t knock anything. If I’m ever down south I’ll have to give this liquor a try, especially as what you call gravy probably isn’t what I call gravy.

No, we have gravy of course! Love gravy on my Sunday roast. Liquor is basically a parsley sauce.

My experience of southern gravy is that is usually watery, if you can’t stand a spoon up in a mug of gravy without it falling to the side, it isn’t really gravy.
