Re: Servicing
No.
A battery change at a local jeweller will do when needed.
I have my wife’s Tag battery changed a water proofed for around £70 every 2ish years. It’s 15 years old. Nothing to service basically.
Just use a good battery/service centre.

Re: Servicing
If a quartz fails (assuming the battery is good) you'll need to replace the movement or possibly the entire watch. Mainstream quartz is essentially regarded as disposable and any competent watchmaker can easily replace a CW quartz movement.

Re: Servicing
Do you use somewhere local to you for the TAG or a high street shop ? I have a TAG Multigraph that just needs a battery as it had a complete "service", clean, new battery, waterproofing etc at TAG about 3 years ago.Essex Paul wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 6:29 pm No.

Re: Servicing
I have just had new batteries, including case clean and pressure test, fitted to three of my watches (my MAT Watches Regatte @ £30 and two Animals @ £20 each) by David Carpenter of Tunbridge Wells; recommended to me by Page and Cooper.Mikkei4 wrote:Do you use somewhere local to you for the TAG or a high street shop ? Turnaround was inside a week and cost is reasonable.

Knowing the models you have, haven't they needed batteries / servicing already?Jaseone wrote:Will my CW Quartz watches ever need servicing?

They service/repair and sell pre-owned most top brands. But any competent watch repairer can change a battery and waterproof it. Doesn’t need to go to Tag.

My wife's Tag F1 went to Swiss Watch Workshop in Sept last year for a new battery, below is an extract of the e-mail detailing the options and costs:Mikkei4 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 10:09 pmDo you use somewhere local to you for the TAG or a high street shop ? Good evening,
Thank you for your email.
Option 1. Battery only. No guarantee for water resistance.
Cost 20£+ postage 10£
Option 2. Battery, new seals and pressure test.
Cost 60£+ postage 10£
12 month guarantee will be provided.
Could you please send your watch to my home address.
Ernest Varnagiris
She went for option 2 and turn around was, IIRC, two weeks.
Website: http://www.swisswatchworkshop.co.uk/
She sent it by RMSD so you need to add another £10 for this, at came back via same.
All very painless throughout.
Cheers,
Paul

That’s great service Paul. Cost about right too and yes always option two. There is no servicing for a quartz as such.
If you were to send a quartz to CW it’d take weeks and weeks.

Re: Servicing
Amazon sell the batteries recommended for most Quartz watches for less than £5, a good quality tool to remove the caseback & change them yourself.
It is really easy, I have done plenty & never had a problem, I even purchased a number of replacement seals in different sizes.

Absolutely the most cost effective option - I change the batteries in my quartz watches but then give them due consideration with regard to getting them wet just to be on the safe side.Bounce wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 9:09 pm Amazon sell the batteries recommended for most Quartz watches for less than £5, a good quality tool to remove the caseback & change them yourself.

When it comes to my wife's quartz watch she sends it away for a proper pressure test - afterall we need to know it will stand up to long term exposure in the washing up bowl

I have only owned my two CW's for a couple of years so haven't had anything done to them yet.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 11:34 pmKnowing the models you have, haven't they needed batteries / servicing already?Jaseone wrote:Will my CW Quartz watches ever need servicing?
