Got stung on eBay

Post by Thegreyman »

....but in a good wayImage

I managed to get a C7 Hornet (COSC LE of 150) which is a watch I’ve admired for a while. I like the unique look of it and the fact it has the 4 piece case. It’s a pity the C7 hasn’t been that popular and CW have discontinued it as the case is a really cool feature.

It’s a 42mm case but wears well due to being relatively slim at 11mm and also a shortish for the diameter 48mm lug to lug.

It must be one of the most incognito CW’s with no wordmark and only the twin flags logo at 12 o’clock.

These are still for sale on the CW website so grab one before they are gone for good.

Bet you had a buzz when you were opening this up last night Patrick and hopefully you didn't get stung on the price.

As you allude to, the C7 Hornet wears very conservatively, not only due to its design and dimensions, but also due to the black case. That's part of the reason why I was content to let mine go and upgrade to a regular steel C7.

Enjoy it.

despite my current feelings toward cw that is one watch that I would like to try at some point. Very striking and I agree about the cool case design. Enjoy it

Hands up those who saw the thread title and thought this was a sob story?

Congratulations, C7s are an underrated watch and yours is quite unique.

Very nice - this is the one watch that I was hoping would appear with a stonking discount in the summer sale.

For me it harks back to the fresh and slightly off the wall CW designs of old..... and there is no word mark on the dial, yay!!!!

Cheers,

Paul

Looking good Patrick. Can't beat a nice bit of orange and the C7 cases are fantastic. I still can't believe that CW spent all of the time and money developing that case and then have dropped it. Seems such a shame to me, I was looking forward to seeing that case used on more watches.

Nice watch Patrick, I noticed it sell the other day and had a hunch your incoming may well be this. Too small and light for me (I once had the Day/Date in Red/Black), but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Thanks folks for the comments. Still wearing the Hornet today and so far running about +3 seconds per day over the two days so happily within COSC spec.

Thanks, sorry for the slightly deceiving thread title!

I was lucky to find one on "the bay" Paul, surprised there are still any left on the CW site given it is only a 150 LE run, maybe in the next sale? I like the fact there is no word mark, not because I don't like that as such, just because it's a bit different, a stealth CW so to speak 8)

Cheers Steve. As you can see I'm a master of the bad pun (and an expert at "dad" jokes as my friends tell me  )

Well spotted in that case Chris  The watch is really light and comfortable to wear I must say. I also like the Rosso Corsa but I know if I bought that, I would probably find it too bright to be a practical regular wearer, whereas the Hornet is a bit more understated,

Cheers Ferg, the C7 case really is superb.
