C6 Kingfisher bracelet replacement.

Post by tkimages »

Sadly, the clasp on my C6 Kingfisher has broken and according to CW, the bracelet is now obsolete, so no chance of a replacement. I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed in that, I just assumed that buying into the CW ethos wouldn't bring obsolescence in less than 10 years!! The best CW CS has come up with is to replace it with a leather, rubber or fabric strap, which I don't want to do

Has anyone replaced the bracelet on their C6 Kingfisher with a third party stainless steel bracelet? Any ideas would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Tillman

Hi Tillman, I'm sorry for your issue and understand your disappointment! Maybe you could just get another clasp instead of replacing the entire bracelet?

The bigger watch companies have a general period of time in which they promise replacements will be available. Does CW have that, too?

Maybe someone on here will have a spare C6 bracelet they'd be willing to sell to you?

Bracelet from the C60 MkI and MKII will fit.

Albeit with a difference in finish.

The bead blasted finish on the C6 will make it difficult to find a matching aftermarket bracelet. It does look good with the bracelet (especially the DLC centre links version), but if you can't find one, may I suggest a Maratac composite band. They pair very well with the C6.

Update: I have managed to find a new clasp for £5.50, which I'll try first. If that doesn't work, then it'll have to be a new bracelet.

Update 2: Scott has confirmed that bracelet from the mk2 C60 will not fit the C6 as it has a different curve radius.

"As the cases differ between Mk1 and Mk2, the end pieces of the bracelets aren't compatible.

The only option on this occasion is to source a second hand, or alternate bracelet from a third party or private sale."

I believe Scott has got this back to front.

It's worth reading our C60 Trident Strap Guide and where it refers to the C60 Trident MkI, include the C6/C60 Kingfisher.

Also, if you have a look in the Reference Gallery and CW of the day topic, I'm sure you will find numerous photos of C6 Kingfishers fitted with C60 Trident bracelets (with polished centre links).

I finally got around to fitting the new clasp to the original C6 bracelet, it took all of 5 minutes!

It looks as good as the original - result!
