That longines is lovely Steve and the condition looks really fantastic for the year. I'm only 2 years older and I'm definitely not in that good a nick!
Cheers now, Paul

Great watch, great story! I love this place. Thanks for taking the time to explain and posting the picture. I'll be keeping my eyes open.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 3:56 pmYep! Hanley is the city centre of Stoke-on-Trent, where I grew up. Henry Pidduck was the top jeweller in the city, when I was a child - very old established firm, and if you had something from Pidduck's you had definitely made the grade! I remember it like this, but sadly it closed in 1992.
On the same spot or very close there is now a modern building housing a very tawdry branch of Goldsmiths that doesn't seem to stock any of the big Swiss brands.
So, the Longines came up on Black Bough about 7 years ago, and I went for it. It's a 33mm watch in 18k gold with a beautiful hand wound movement. I had to have it.
Since my mother passed away in 2017 I haven't really been back to the area, so it's nice to keep the odd connexion.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

This for now but I’m heading out on my velocipede shortly so I’ll be changing to something less valuable. Value being relative, of course. One man’s Casio is another man’s Rolex etc.
Steve.

After a week with the 36mm Smiths on various straps anything larger is going to be a bit of a shock to the system.

I'm really sorry, but for some reason I did not see your post, or the notification email, yesterday.
My reply to @Ian Mc answers your question but yes, I have seen brief details of the new Black dial version. Got an email about it last week.
Really good looking piece and, with the black dial I'm sure will be popular, more so that the grey with is a bit 'left field' (why I like it).
Are you thinking of getting one?
Guy

Bike ride postponed for rain so had a play with my BBR. Now fitted with the “New Black Bay” from Steveostraps. Superb service and a superb product. I’m rather pleased with it and it’s a fraction of the cost of the real McCoy.

Re: Non CW of the Day
Hi Guy. I’m definitely gonna be getting one of them but I’m undecided whether to get in quick and grab one of the last grey ones or wait for the black. The last holiday we had with our old dog was in Northumberland and we lost him a short while after so it will be a good fit for me. I’ve told our lass that she can choose the colour of the Hamtun I’ve backed, as I can’t decide, so it’ll depend on which colour she chooses for that as to which Northwind I go forBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 11:38 amHi Chris,TigerChris wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 1:15 pm
