Id wouldn't send a quartz for a service. There's practically nothing to service.
If like others have said, you want to have it pressure tested then I would but that's only because CW won't supply new seals anyway so you have no choice.
I dont understand. CW wont supply seals?
How do they waterproof and pressure test then?
They use the old seals? Seems odd.

Hi Paul. You won't get a reply from Chris as he's been banned. I presume he meant that CW won't supply seals to anyone else and so if you want those doing then you would have to send it to CW (if that makes sense).

Ahhh cheers Chris. Makes absolute sense now. Thanks.
Banned? Crikey.

I have just asked for a quote on my Bluebird that needs a battery - I’ll keep you posted on price :)

Hi Neil, unfortunately I didn't make a note of the screwdriver size when I changed the C7 battery (must do in future) but I agree the retaining screws are very tiny. I have a watchmakers screwdriver set (purchased from Cousins UK) which I find invaluable for any kind of work on watch internals. The smallest flat driver head is 0.5mm and goes up to the largest which is 3mm.

If you are considering buying a set, I would suggest spending as much as you can afford, as the cheap drivers are poorly made and add to the risk of damaging whatever it is you are working on.
Cheers

Sorry - I could've helped here! I just got my Kingfisher back from a battery a week ago. It cost £22.95 including £7.95 for postage. (So, £15 for the battery change) Unfortunately I wasn't overly happy with the CW service this time compared to previous times, but that's probably not a discussion for here.

£15 quoted for me too. I live close enough to drop off and collect in person so no postage charges.

Sent off Louise's W11 Amelia for it's first battery replacement to CW on the 15th of January.
Back today exactly 10 days later as they quoted

CW received my W7 BBMF yesterday for a battery change.

Be interesting to compare timing.

It was actually 9 days really as it arrived at my forwarding address yesterday.
So I would assume a similar time frame for you Guy.
