Interesting that they’ve swapped the offerings of strap Vs. bracelet between the Samurai and Turtle compared to the previous StO release. In this instance I think the blue rubber on the Samurai looks quite cool.

Quite pricey, for the next month or so anyway, but I certainly don’t need anymore Seiko’s.

Seiko Save The Ocean PVD

I think I shall stick with the stainless version of the Save the Ocean Turtle... although I did put mine on an OEM bracelet. The dials on these are fabulous...

I quite like the last one SSC701 but not sure if I prefer it over my Speedmaster. Might be a good beater chrono though.

I asked about the Samurai while at the NYC Boutique and evidently it’s a JDM model and not available in the US. If anyone sees an online seller that will ship to the US please let me know.

The one that comes up most often is Seiya
https://www.seiyajapan.com/
I haven't used them myself yet but they are the JDM seller which is most often recommended for shipping to the US. There may be others.

Thanks for the reminder on Seiya. It’s not on their site yet but I’ll keep checking back.

I tried one on in the NL on Friday. Very nice, and the dial, although less dramatic than the non-PVD version is still very attractive, and its subtlety may have a longer appeal.

I am sorely tempted. On a rubber strap it seems a far better size and flow across my wrist.

You are correct. The dial gradient and wave texture is less dramatic with the PVD case than on the SS case. It does come to life outside but is much more subtle inside or in the shade. Not quite sure how I feel about that yet.

Nice. Have you got it on a black rubber?

No. Bad lighting earlier.
