this is one of those watches that makes me sad. it's not a bad looking watch at all. at first glance, there's a lot to like about it. but then the logo just gets to me. it reminds me of the borealis logo. just looks like someone typed it into MS Word in Times New Roman in all caps and made the E italic as an after thought. and i dislike it so much it taints the rest of the watch. i don't know why people spend so much time designing the watch and put a logo like that on there.

At least with Maen, it is a short brand name, is in the right spot, and not a person's full name... I'll take this anytime over the branding of another watchmaker who I won't mention by first/last name. :silent:

we may not all like how CW ended up with the new brand, but you can't say it wasn't thought out. the typeface has a story behind it, and they put a lot of effort into thinking about why they did what they did. those of us who don't like it just don't like the conclusion(s) they came to.

Non CW of the Day

Post by gaf1958 »

New Kickstarter watch from a few WUS forum inmates. HKED Nemo in (what else) green. 40mm drilled lug case, box domed sapphire, matte ceramic bezel with a Seiko NH38 no-date movement (NH35 in the date version).

The case back is nicely stamped with a giant squid in keeping with the Nemo theme and it’s fitted with a solid link beads of rice bracelet, with a nicely milled clasp (not stamped sheet metal). It’s supplied with a very useful canvas roll holing five watches. I’m quite impressed with it for not a lot of money.

Very smart Gary.

HKED seems to have a very close knit and loyal following. The only other one that I recall having seen on the forum is owned by @golfjunky, but he doesn't show it off that often.

Steinhart Ocean One GMT 39mm Pepsi for today. Love the watch in terms of fit, finish and performance +/- 3sec per day. Starting to dislike the Pepsi bezel so decided that this one will go to make space for a GMT with a little more character of its own. Will post in the sales corner later today.
