Your 2018 watch haul?
Oh dear... even though it may be eclipsed by Guy’s efforts in 2018 (above), it’s nonetheless been a busy year. Part of the problem was that I sold a large chunk of my collection early in the year (to help fund a large deposit on a new apartment), so in part, it’s been a rebuilding process, but much of it has been simple indulgence.
Like Steve, the year starts (in as much as I can validly recall) with the Ascari.
I picked up the first of several Magrettes, the Kara. IIRC this was ordered in the second half of 2017, but delivery got screwed up and I didn’t receive it until January 2018.
Next in was this lovely Farer Endeavour.
I managed to get to the top of the wait list on this, the Visitor Office Vale Park
The second of the Magrettes turned up shorty afterward.
I found a nice 90s Seiko
I managed to get hold of this superb C60 Kingfisher - one I’d been keen on for years...
I bought a Helson Sharkmaster 300 as a ‘wear anywhere’ alternative to my vintage Omega Seamaster 300
Picked up a new Turtle
A third Magrette turned up...
Having reached the top of the waiting list, a second Visitor, the Duneshore, arrived
A rebuilding purchase, another SMP
...and another SMP further rebuilding what has gone.
A Kickstarter purchase, the Traska Freediver
Another rebuilding purchase, a 42mm Panerai 620 to replace the 512 that had been sold.
The behemoth; a 47mm Seiko Sawtooth
Tudor Grantour
Zodiac Grandrally
From Kickstarter, a Diewald Seahorse II
A Bell & Ross chrono...
CW forum watch of the year 2018, the C65 Diver
Another ‘rebuilder’, Omega DeVille chrono with the ‘Armadillo’ bracelet
Could not resister another greenie; the Squale Atmos 30 GMT
Like many on the forum, I was waiting for a Halios Seaforth
...followed by another
After regularly admiring Dane’s Chronoris on the forum, I managed to get hold of one.
Couldn’t resist a C65 Vintage
Kickstarter again, a Valimor Caliburnus
A quite inexpensive vintage purchase, this Cler hand winder
An opportunistic purchase, C7 day & date COSC prototype. It was purchased before Christmas, but strictly speaking it wasn’t delivered until the 2nd January, but it had been in Australia for almost a week at that time, so I’m included it...
As I said, oh dear. By my count that makes 30. Mind you, I think I sold slightly in excess of that number during the year, so ... maybe ... not so bad.

Great collection Guy.
But, you bought ALL these in just ONE year?

I’m strangely drawn to the Le Jour, does it get much wrist time? What’s your thoughts on it?
Shades of the Heur Pasadena, which LeJour used to make for Heur, and Sinn 144. Solid Valjoux 7750 movement and the cachet of a very limited production run. Superb bracelet. Good value.
I like and have got the blasted case version, but the smarter brushed/polished model is exceptionally well done.
Mine on the right, brushed/polished on the left.
A few remaining pieces are with Page and Cooper

Shall we call it some cathartic retail therapy and in lieu of getting a new car.

Blimey. Think we’ve found the recent winner of the Euromillions.

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
I think it’s the similarity to the Sinn 144 that drew me to looking at it. Already been on Page and Cooper to have a look before you replied. The grey dial is tempting, but so is the polished blue. I like them a lot, something just slightly different outside the ‘norm’ which, as you know, appeals to me.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 1:39 amI like it a lot.TigerChris wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 12:33 am

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
A couple of Seiko's and a Tommy Bahama. though recently bought an Emporio Armani Rose gold watch haven't any photos yet.
No watches sold. No CW watches bought.
Not sure for 2019, though definitely getting a Steinhart Ocean 2 Premium white, maybe also get another Steinhart and may be swayed by the CW C65 pepsi.
New car in June and after the bathroom is finished wife wants a new kitchen - shouldn't stop the odd watch purchase as I have a big birthday this year. May have to sneak the odd one in also....

Too many to list, but checked my spreadsheet (yes, sad I know)
Bought 8, sold 16.

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
Just the 5 purchases for me in 1918. From cheap as chips retro-ish Casio to an (oops, I’ve paid less for cars) Tudor. I also managed to bag a bargain NN C65 Diver too. Here they are, in order of acquisition.
January:
March:
June:
Another June purchase:
November:
As for 2019? I fancy a look at the upcoming C65 GMT Pepsi but other than that, I don’t have any plans.

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
Hadnt realized I was approaching a dozen in 2018 .... bit of a mish-mash, but each individual caught my interest .... if an IRR or a Cunningham Stripe ever surfaces, the interloper in the case will make way !
