Really sick of the descrimination on here that allows favoured people to be able to post what they want but others including myself get posts deleted not due to content but merely due to who we are.

New-fangled on-line banking security which sends a text message with a PIN or OTP which you have a to key in before a payment is complete. Some of us live in places where texts don’t come through or don’t receive texts when travelling abroad (thanks O2), so the “security” is so secure that it prevents the account holder from making payments. And when I phone to complain they say “you can always call us”, well if I wanted to call I wouldn’t have opened an online account, and then they say “we’ll take your comments on board”. No you won’t.

The World has gone mad!

Birmingham Police are actively searching for a fan who threw a cabbage (that missed) at Steve Bruce, the Aston Villa manager.

Bruce is quoted as saying " "Unfortunately, it sums up the society we are in at the moment. There's no respect for anyone."

You couldn't make it up.

My wife just arrived back from dog walking with some Conkers, she works at a school and isn't allowed to take them in.

We'll be living in bubbles by 2030..

Audi's new naming structure which is now linked to power output rather than engine capacity.

So for example a Q2 1.6 TDI is now the Q2 30 TDI - in this example 30 for models between 81 - 96kW (107 - 127bhp) utter nonsense imho all because of hybrid/electric integrations.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

When the first you see of a sales corner listing is the update to say it has sold, and you think “Damn, I would have bought that”.

Great Christmas present from my car insurers.

Renewal offer, for mid-January, received in the post this morning. Only one change to my policy since last year, which is that policy no longer has my wife as an additional driver. I am the only driver.

Offer is a 27.75% increase on last year! grumble:

I'll be looking elsewhere.

Guy

Being wished a happy holiday rather than a happy Christmas. It's not even a holiday where I am, so it's meaningless PC, but people do enjoy celebrating Christmas here and I spent this evening hosting a festive meal at the hotel we're staying at for Pam's close family and friends, both Buddhists and Muslims in attendance all enjoyed themselves and wouldn't even understand the notion or need for such PC.

Just received one of those scam phone calls, from someone with a very strong Asian accent, purporting to be from Microsoft and alleging that my computer is infected with malware.

I played along, while he asked me to take a few steps, to allow him to check my computer for me. I then went on to tell him that I knew what he was up to and I asked him if he could sleep at night being as he was tricking people in this way.

He said he slept very well because he was only trying to help people and he wanted to help me if I’d let him.

At this point, I must confess that I lied to him!

I said that I was an IT engineer and my computer was fine and I knew that what he was doing was an illegal scam and he was trying to cheat me.

At this point, it got a bit scary. He dropped the affected accent and rounded on me.

He said, in a menacing/sneering tone, “if you are an IT expert, why do you sound so scared?”

After a pause to compose my thoughts I then replied with “I’m not scared (I’m lying again) I’m just keeping you on the line long enough to trace this call”

He hung up.

Trouble is, he obviously has my number which can identify me and where I live.

Should I be afraid?
Steve.
