CW novice question on model numbers.

Post by Essex Paul »

Hi CW experts

Was wondering what the number stood for after “C” on model references.

For example C1,C9,C65 etc.

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, it doesn’t have any particular meaning, other than men’s watches were always Cx, Cxx or Cxxx. Women’s watches (when CW made them) were usually Wx, Wxx etc.

Oh I see gaf.
So it’s just a random number, meaningless? :-k

Wonder then why bother with that? Just call it say the CW Trident 600 metres. Or CW Grand Malvern Power reserve. The Harrison. Etc etc.

Oddly enough I wrote about this just a couple of weeks ago.

Have a look at this article.

Good article Steve.

Although it doesn't explain where CW got their numbers from.
Just refers to a certain line.

Originally they gave each case a number. Case #1 = C1 &c.
