Re: Vostok Amphibia mods
Those fonts don't match any better than the modded options and the more serious shade of blue makes it a very different watch...

Agreed about the fonts and I'm ambivalent as to whether the match up.suicidal_orange wrote:Those fonts don't match any better than the modded options and the more serious shade of blue makes it a very different watch...
I put my suggestion forward on the basis it is ready made and fits the white / black criteria.
Of your options, I prefer the #2 with just the 12, 3, 6 & 9 and its 'futuristic' font.

Re: Vostok Amphibia mods
^^^ Thanks for the suggestion Guy, but I will admit that I'm not a fan of the case shape ...
Nor the full lume dial either. They look great in the dark, but I'd prefer a straight up white dial
I've only just realised that #2 has a date @ 4:30. Hmmm

I saw that and omitted to mention.StrappedUp wrote:I've only just realised that #2 has a date @ 4:30. Hmmm
Option #1 - No date.
Option #2 - Date @ 4 o'clock
Any preference?
Whilst there is a quick set for the date on Vostoks, it is a bit on the rudimentary side; as you might expect.

Re: Vostok Amphibia mods
Well all 3 of my current divers have a date, so a no date would be a bit different.
I've also took an interest in field style watches recently. Although its a diver, the dial on #1 is a similar style ... maybe it'll do double-duty??
I'm already changing my plans for 2018 and breaking my 2 diver rule ... oh well. Onwards and upwards

Mine is currently stuck in Russia in some sort of Russian customs dispute, along with several others for different customers from MeranomBahnstormer_vRS wrote:I prefer this one, straight up with no modding, from Meranom, which has the additional feature of a full lume (green) dial.

Don't want to spend alot, so I'm thinking of jumping on the Vostok train.
I've mocked up 2 modded options with the Amphibian 120. I'm on the fence, so what do you forumites think?
Option 1
Option 2
Option 1 looks awesome. If you can find a bezel in that colour.
I'm against the ministry case idea. They look very big in pictures.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Yours is still within 'normal' delivery time. I ordered mine on 10 December.Simon57 wrote:Wonder if this is why my Meranom purchase from around Christmas time still isn't here...It'sAliveJim wrote: Mine is currently stuck in Russia in some sort of Russian customs dispute, along with several others for different customers from Meranom
I've bought loads of Vostoks from Meranom and they usually take about two weeks so this is a first for me. Even allowing for the Christmas break it's taking an age.
Apparently this happens a lot with Russian customs. Meranom explains it on a WUS thread somewhere. The goods can pass through customs OK, get loaded on the plane, then customs decide to take them all off and stick them on a ship instead so it takes forever. The vast majority turn up eventually though. Fingers crossed
