C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
My C1 GMPR arrived late yesterday. I took it out for its first wear last night.
The new case is great and it wears slimmer than it really is. The blued hands are exceptionally easy to read against the opalin white dial. The power reserve is more subtle than the photos show, but remains ever visible.
This is a very comfortable watch to wear.

Re: C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
It's a great looking watch.
For me, I'd find it a real struggle to choose between the blue and white faces. After trying them on last year (at SalonQP) I was surprised how light they felt on the wrist, and how slim they actually looked, as you can see from the photos they're not the thinnest watch.
New logo looks good at 9.
Can't wait to hear how about the power reserve, but as you've only had it a few days it's probably not fair to ask you just yet

Re: C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
Perhaps it's the angle but that looks a LOT larger than 40.5mm on your wrist. What size wrist do you have?Kip wrote:My C1 GMPR arrived late yesterday. I took it out for its first wear last night.

I had been considering one of these but then noticed that it has no DATE on it so I went ahead and ordered a C9 5DA instead as it does have the date on it. I wonder what the reasoning was in ommitting it?

Re: C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
My wrist size is 7". Here is a 43mm C9 5 Day on my wrist.
They are quite different, but both very comfortable and fit well, although the C1 feels much thinner. Probably the angle of the photos that make them look larger.

Re: C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
Thanks for the clarity. The C1 looks (to me) to be about the same coverage on your wrist as the C9 so it's probably just the angle of the pic. I am getting a C9 in the 40mm size and have a 7.25" wrist. My wrist is pretty flat and wide so I can wear larger peices without them looking out of place but, to me, those "larger-than-life" watches are un-necessarily ostentatious. Neither of your photo's are that which is nice to see. Looking forward to my new C9 5DAKip wrote:My wrist size is 7". Here is a 43mm C9 5 Day on my wrist.

The results are in...
122 hrs 19 min. Power Reserve. It was at +4 seconds when I checked this morning.
ps. I changed the watch position once each day.

Re: C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve
My good lord, that C1 Grand Malvern is ridiculously beautiful. That is the exact style I have been looking at (white dial, camel strap). It would be my first non-bracelet watch. I have been scouring the Sales Forum for someone to catch/release one
On another note, I wonder if CW will ever make another movement (like ... SH 19 ?) which is about 2 or 3 mm smaller in diameter, and can fit inside of a 38mm case. I think a variant of the C1 that is a few mm smaller would be a smash hit! That case design is lust-worthy!!!
