Just got an email, watches are available mid October. Very cool design, well done CW! Not a fan of the skeleton pipette hands, solid hands would have made it a no-brainer to place an order right now.

Aviation is something we take for granted, thinking nothing about circling the globe in flying metal tubes and meeting colleagues for lunch on a different continent. But the new Christopher Ward C8 UTC Worldtimer reminds us of the wonder of flying: linking the design of classic military aviation with the possibilities of modern jet travel in one ingenious, and very beautiful, watch.

Much prefer the look of the stainless case over the black. Also good to see a colour matched date wheel. Unfortunately, for me, those hands and the logo would rule it out.

I didn't even notice the new logo this time so that's a good thing. :D

This will be US$ 985 (£749.17) when shipped to the US. Not bad at all for an automatic GMT watch.

Attention to detail on the case back and crowns are very nice.

It's a pity they don't offer the vintage dial in the steel case.

Really is a striking looking watch - definite departure for them

That back plate has been used before.

It would be nice to have seen something new.

A nice crown but still not signed...

I'll wait for some real life photos before I make a call on this one.

Very much like it; especially the 'oversized' crowns - adjustable when wearing one's flying gloves.

The Vintage black is nice but I'm preferring the Steel finish case, particularly on the Tan strap;-

Interesting to see that the steel version has a brushed case with polished bevelled sections; a departure from the C8 MkI, MkII and Flyer, all of which has a blasted finish to the case.

If I was after a GMT watch, which I'm not at present, it would be worthy of my consideration.

I like the case back but that's it for me.
I think the crowns look like there in the wrong place and the hands look like condoms

What's the big deal with signed crowns? I find this turbine/gear pattern much more interesting.

+1
Its a good looking watch, and I do want a GMT, but I'm neither enamored nor offended by the hands or logo, so its probably a no (the caveat being I don't see it in flesh and change my mind)

"Pipette" hands? Is that what they're called across the pond? I enjoy skeleton hands on a watch, but that shape, once seen, is not easily unseen.

That aside, this might be their best looking aviation watch thus far. The lume looks amazing and it's nice to see an informal twist on the worldtimer complication. While at 44mm I wouldn't be able to wear it, I very much look forward to seeing others' wrist shots when it ships. Normally I'm not partial to custard markers but it works here with the DLC version. I'd go for the steel case and camel strap if I were buying.

For me one of the main positives from the rebrand was the cross logo but we haven't seen much of it. It looks superb on the mock ups we've seen of crowns with it.

IMO this watch would have benefitted from one crown being signed and the other with the design they have on both at the moment.

Can't remember where I read that this style of hands looks like a condom. That's all I can think of when I see them though :)
