Thanks for the side by side photo. That confirms my thoughts that the 38mm is too small for my wrists.

My pleasure. The 38mm is way too small for me too - but my wife grabbed it!

Wow that's a huge difference. I hear a lot of people say they think the 43mm version looks a lot more proportionate than the 38mm but I don't see it.

I purchased a 38mm and it's the absolute perfect size for my wrists. I wouldn't be able to wear the 43mm and am very happy that the alternate size is available for me. The only thing I like more on the 43mm version is the trident, I feel it's more noticeable.

It is a big difference when you see them side by side like that. However, there is a little bit of lens distortion that makes the 43mm look larger in comparison than it actually is. I'll see if I can get some side-by-side photos on watch display stands so the proportions look more real-life accurate.

For me, the 43mm fits so much better - the 38mm looks far too small on my 7.5"+ wrist. I have other 38mm non-divers, without the dive bezel obviously, and the larger face in proportion to the case size looks just fine on me.

The 38mm Trident looks great, too great, on my wife's smaller wrist however which is why she stole it from me. :problem:

Greetings,

It's a cracking watch at 43mm or 38, and your loss is your wife's gain!

Enjoy your new watches.

Did you buy 2 with the intention to return the one that suited you less?

I would say that in my experience the 38mm wears smaller than any other watch I have of the same size.

Thanks for the side by side. it really shows the difference. My presence has always been more traditional, 38 mm for me.

Sorry, I missed your request. My wrist is 7" to 7.25" depending on humidity/temperature.

Thanks. I found this really useful when deciding to treat myself to a blue 38mm on the secondary market for my birthday. To me the 38mm is small, but the 43 is large, but then I am used to wearing a 40mm Smiths Everest (Timefactors). The 38mm just pipped it, and after living with it for a few days now feels right.

Thanks for that. Great to see the contrast between the two watches.

Thanks for the comparison, there's a big difference. I prefer the 38mm.
