C60 COSC correction notice from CWL

Post by Kip »

Per the topic Sellita instead ETA in my C60 COSC, that is now into its 22nd page, I thought it better to start a fresh one.

First of all, Thank you to "bendry" for bringing this matter to our attention and that of CWL and Chris. He was the first one notified of the correction options via a phone call from Chris himself.

This is not something that happens everyday and it is certainly not something that CWL is proud of, but accidents do happen. Enough information has been gathered, such as how many watches and who they belong to, to start the correction process.

Fortunately, only a limited quantity of watches/owners has been affected by this error, but those that have will be sent the letter below. This is the letter for my watch.

I thought I had an ETA, but I will choose to keep my watch as is, based on the performance and having found no advantage to ETA over Sellita.

If you have one one of the affected C60 COSC watches you will be getting a letter also. Please let Chris know your intentions.

C60 COSC correction notice from CWL

Post by mabotham »

What % were affected? And why did it happen?

Seems a perfectly acceptable response from Chris.

Well, the company promised to reply by Wednesday, and have done so on Tuesday.
My wish to be informed has also been granted...in that, if I do not hear, I know I have an Eta.
Thank you CW.

A fine response from Chris.

It would be nice to know how the problem happened and how a similar issue will be prevented in future, but it's understandable if CWL don't want to make those details public. What's important is that they are now contacting customers with an apology and a generous solution.

The cow is out of the ditch, with a suitable proposed resolution from CW.

Well done CWL. Admit the fault then fix and throw in a good will gesture what more can you ask of a company. :-)

Would be interesting to find out why though.

perfect - great tone / correct offer - put right or refund / good idea on the apology freebie - for those interested in a COSC movement a service makes a lot of sense and is expensive, so lovely offer.

well done CW

I guess we'll never find out exactly why it happened and that's understandable, but a good response. The offer of a free service Is a nice touch, especially if they do contact the owners directly to remind them

Looks fair to me.

I would be interested to know if anyone takes them up on the refund option... and how much the watch then sells for as NN :)

Well done - and almost exactly as per my suggested response in the COSCgate thread. Good work.

An appropriate response from the man himself. It's what I've come to expect from the company.
