Since finding out that Rolex have made a watch with a decent case size ;) I have been mulling over one of these.

Image

Will be having a look at them later to see if it is worth paying the extra for this version.

Time will tell!

If I had the wrist size (and funds) I would be all over one of those I think as well. They look like an absolute beast, for some reason in pictures they look bigger than the 45.5mm planet ocean.

I find the 40mm of most of the Rolex sport range to be "perfect"

I am probably going to cut down my already rather small collection to just a few watches that I can wear anywhere, anytime.

I think that the Sub/GMTii is one of those watches that just 'works' and although it is too small for me, the larger case size of this one should be just the ticket!

It is also a bloomin impressive chunk of watch, that should hopefully fit in with the other keepers.

This is a great looking watch. I will be interested in your impressions.

note: based on the printing on this dial we have plenty we can do with the FLE.

There certainly is an awful lot printing on that real estate

They are obviously not charged by the word! :)

I've tried the new sea dweller (not the blue/black one which looks gorgeous), but it is an absolute monster. I have the 8500 PO, which feels positively svelte like in comparison. Way too big and heavy for me.

Even though it would look ridiculous on me I would like to have a look and feel of one, having felt rolex steel and finishing I don't think anyone does a case better (albeit in my limited experience) and a case that size must be impressive

I do love the Explorer I and the No-date Sub, and the BLNR is quite lovely as well. But I'm not a diver or an explorer. My favorite Rolex is the unique and eccentric Milgauss (I pick the new Z-blue one, though pics of all 3 colors are posted below) marketed as the scientist's watch, possibly a good fit for me in the future. Good to see some Rolex 'blue' is a SS case, usually its the gold ones with blue. And I love the tinted green crystal as well. My gf really likes this watch too. Even though the antimagnetic nature is something I do not care too much about, I love the design of this watch and that second hand as well (no one else has a lightning bolt seconds hand) !

Totally unnecessary and totally fantastic!

The new one is definitely the one to go for! The hint of colour just lifts it to another level.

I always thought the Rolex Explorer II was their best watch, until I saw the Milgauss in a shop window the other week, now I'm not so sure......

I saw the milgauss "in the metal" for the first time last week. I thought the green crystal rather washes out the colour of the blue dial, TBH. They should have done a blue/clear.

The black/orange dial with the green crystal is lovely...

Spent most of the day dreaming about this utter beauty...

The car its designed for is THE most beautiful car ever designed in my opinion so after paying a cool £1.1m for the LW E-Type, you'd just have to have the watch to go with it!
