Play the Challenger SH21 Game

Post by Kip »

Fancy yourself as a watchmaker? CWL just launched the Challenger SH21 Game

Designed and developed with the help of master watchmaker Johannes Jahnke, the game allows you to assemble our CalibreSH21 watch movement just like a professional watchmaker but against the clock.

Have you got what it takes?

GAME ON!

I like the apprentice mode so that you can learn what to do. But you really have to line up some the wheels correctly.

Also it's a shame the wheels and cogs aren't named, many people could learn a lot from that.

To add, the hairspring doesn't move, I assume this is a glitch that needs a patch or update; certainly hope it's not a future payable dlc

Great idea though, full credit to them on this one. There are many steam games out their like this that take it the next level by using balance and composure as ways to up the anti; sort of like Operation (board game). Further development could yield a fascinating app for aspiring watch makers.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

I felt the apprentice mode was obviously for losers, so I went straight to the master mode. Then I felt like the infant who is trying to force the square piece into the triangular hole (it's gotta fit eventually!), until the time ran out. Several times.

Strangely fun.

Would have been a nice touch if the parts were labelled

That's good then but the labels don't show up on my mobile and like others the office computer says no.

I can do it in 21 seconds which is a proper challange on a 3inch blackberry screen.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

This is actually one of the most creative things I have seen a watchmaker offer to it's customers/forum members! I'm horrible at it but it's still interesting to see how the basics of a movement come together. Very cool!
