What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
There isn't a week that has not passed by since I first joined this forum when I have not read some form of criticism of CWL. Despite this my interest in CWL is stronger than ever and it's not because of the company's ethos, nor their values, or their customer service, neither is it their pricing. It's simply because I like their watches. I intend to stick around and en-route pick up a few more CWLs and if they are as beautiful as this then I will be one very happy customer.
So what keeps your interest in CWL alive?
So what keeps your interest in CWL alive?
Re: What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
More interest in the forum than the watches at this point, sad to say...

Two things mainly...my quest for a particular watch from the past, and my curiosity about what they might produce next.Berkshire wrote: So what keeps your interest in CWL alive?

That'll be a C1 & its possible sub 40mm resurrection then...

Re: What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
I think I will always have an interest in CWL because it is the only budget brand that I feel some kind of connection too. I am sure the watches themselves are no better than other budget brands but with CWL I get awesome customer service, a British company and easy servicing from the company itself when the time comes.
I have zero interest in any other brands in this price bracket because I have no attachment to them, some of the designs might be nice but I think if I bought it I would just look at it and see a watch that isn't as good as a higher end piece AND I have no reason to be affiliated with the brand.
This forum helps a lot too.

"Not as good as a higher end brand" is a statement which invites infinite regress.

Owning a watch that is not a common brand feels a bit special

My first four watches were CW and reading the forum was what piqued my horological interest. Little in the current line up takes my fancy (at the current sizes anyway) but always interested in any new offerings available

For me I find that I like a lot of the designs and for the price I think you get great bang for your buck.
Since I joined thus board I have also found out shed loads regarding various watches, not just CW watches.

It is no secret that I am a major fan of CWL.
I like them for lots of reasons :
That very few people know of them, that you are nearly guaranteed not to see another in the street, for the outstanding customer service and because they are stunning. Simples

Ha not trying to start something! And my quote certainly wouldn't be true for all "higher end" brands.highway62 wrote:"Not as good as a higher end brand" is a statement which invites infinite regress.

Re: What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
That's one of the main reasons I keep hanging around here at the moment. I've owned 6 CWs in my time and still have two. My biggest regret was selling my C1 - my first CW watch. I'm not drawn to many of the current models - they're just too big for my current tastes. But I live in hope of a sub 40mm model making its way to the top of the pile, and if it is based on the C1 then I'd be overjoyed.highway62 wrote:That'll be a C1 & its possible sub 40mm resurrection then...

Re: What keeps your interest in CWL alive?
my first nice watch was a CWL (even if it's moved one), and the community here has held my interest. as well as CWL's commitment to the community, with a little special attention, and their commitment to customer service.
i only have one left, the 2012FLE, and who knows if i'll buy another, but i've made enough friends here and enjoyed the banter enough that i'll always have at least one foot in the CWL door.
