Incoming: You Know When You Know (Pic Update)

Post by MGH »

My journey into watches over the past 9 months or so has been filled with much learning (and plenty of yearning). As a newcomer, the World of watches is filled with endless choices and options, styles, brands and price ranges. Confusion and overwhelm reigns…

I’ve come across watches of all price ranges that I’ve thought I wanted, been on the verge of buying, but held back. Something wasn’t quite right.

Interestingly the two easiest watch decisions I’ve made have been for the two that I’ve bought so far.
The first one, the one which led me to this forum, was the C9 Harrison – I just liked it from the first time I saw it, and love it still.

The second one, a Blue Orient Mako, was discovered through watch forums, probably this very forum. It’s a great little value watch. I liked it as soon as I saw it and had no hesitation in pressing the buy button. It arrived very soon after the C9 and is my daily watch, recently given a new life with a new Hirsch strap!

Since the Mako, I’ve got to the verge of pulling the trigger on many different watches, but not finished the deed. I was starting to think that maybe I was just too cautious or indecisive to make a decision...

I took my wife to Park Street last week to pick up a belated Birthday watch for her. While we were there I took the opportunity to have a play with another watch myself and the decision was made there and then on what my next purchase would be!

I’m picking up a C700 from Park Street this Friday. Liked it when I first saw it, loved it in the flesh. Don’t know why, just did!

Piccies to follow :D

Yep! I took a look at the rubber strap version, as well as the bracelet. Steel all the way for me on this watch.

I'd say it's a watch that 'needs' a bracelet strap.
It just looks so right with it.

Ooooooooh - I'd like a C700. I have it's C7 sibling which I really like, but I think the C700 would be the next step up.

Congrats on the C700!! Such a fantastic watch; a buddy of mine grabbed one and absolutely cannot give it enough wrist time.

Two visits to #1 Park Street in a fortnight - that it brilliant in itself.

Yep. I was struck by how different the watch looks like on metal. I don't have a lot of experience of handling watches at this price range, but for me, the bracelet added an extra level of quality, as well as a nice bit of extra weight!

Just returned from Maidenhead with my new purchase. To say I'm ecstatic with my C700, is putting it mildly :D

Will take a few more pics at some point over weekend!

That looks stunning Martin, especially nice on the bracelet. Congratulations on another well considered CWL purchase.

I wonder how the C700 sells generally? We don't seem to see that many of them around the forum, which is a little surprising I think.

I have always liked the c700, just never got round to buying one. After seeing these pics, maybe I should bite the bullet.
