Re: Non CW of the Day
Recent arrival for me and its second day on my wrist, is my Direnzo DRZ 03 Eclipse. I have two examples of its predecessor, the DRZ 02 and I’ve said a number of times that I think it’s the best original watch design I’ve seen on Kickstarter by a long way and definitely one of the best made and finished.
The 03 Eclipse is not as “out there” as the previous model, but is nonetheless a fresh take on a watch style that’s been done to death - the dive watch. Loved by most, done well by only a few, I think this make it into the ranks of the few.
The only real link back to the DRZ 02 are the hands, albeit the hour hand now sports an arrowhead at the end for a bit more lume coverage. I really like the concept of the eclipse, with the black centre dial (a separate disc, I believe), with the light radiating out and fading away to the dial edge. Three of the hour markers look like little moons orbiting the central “moon” disc. It quite tickles my fancy.
It was also available in blue, which did not appeal to me quite as much, and in red, which IMO really did it no favours (that’s a surprise coming from me, who loves colour). The black, with the vintage lume, really does the design justice though. At 40mm, I also find it nicely wearable; it’s been really comfortable all day long.

That's rather smart Gary and, like you, I rather like the combination of dot and baton marker.
It sort of looks like a stripped back Rado Captain Cook and all the better for it.

Edit; I reckon you have the pick of the crop Gary. The red looks a bit like a Cherry Bomb and blue is well, blue.
Fairly academic though as, apart from 2 pieces of the Blue no date they're SOLD OUT; as seem to be most of their watches.

I like it!!..saw a red bezel version of it on another popular forum yesterday...the bezel is so similar to my Polestar(albeit blue).. Don't mean to hijack the post!!..gaf1958 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 11:39 am Recent arrival for me and its second day on my wrist, is my Direnzo DRZ 03 Eclipse. Risk of browsing the internet when you are unable to sleep... Put on a leather strap for the time being. The Milanese bracelet is pretty decent but is too dressy IMHO and the accompanying leather strap is bland.
Dial is amazing, finishing is good and no servicing required - replacing the movement is cheaper .

Re: Non CW of the Day
That is a lovely dial. There are any number of watches that use that pattern in a subtle guilloche, but this has put the pattern on steroids and made a real feature of it.Qubo wrote:Better photo.
