Interesting premise Paul. Certainly agree with VFM. I think, much as the Mako is an outright Diver, the numerals give it a quasi Aviator look.

I had a blue Mako back in 2013/14 and sold it, as you do.

This black one was offered to me in p/x on the sale of one of my Elliot Brown Canfords to a member of the CWE Facebook Group and I thought, why not? Let's have another look.

Liking what I have seen so far.

When buying watches I have never been influenced by thoughts of having “a diverse collection covering Diver, Sports, GMT, Motorsport, Chronograph, Aviator, Dress, Vintage, Beater, Grail etc, each occupying a different ‘role‘ in the collection“. :problem:

Seems rather proscriptive to me. Far better to just buy what you like and if you end up with a number of watches that to many would be regarded as similar, so be it.

As it turns out, I reckon I have still ended up with watches in what I view as distinct categories, albeit I have allocated them after the event.

Today I have decided to wear my “quirky tool sports watch”. :)

Couldn’t agree more, Neil. I think a lot of us have been through the categories phase – I certainly have. Interestingly, dropping the idea of having or building a diverse collection has helped me to focus on what I have and actually to stop buying watches. It is now nearly 16 months since I bought one, and nothing is on the horizon at present.

I used to think of today’s offering as a beater. In fact, it is much more of a casual all-round watch that is great for holidays, camping trips and doing odd jobs at home. It’s a watch.

The half minute which we daily devote to the winding-up of our watches is an exertion of labour almost insensible; yet, by the aid of a few wheels, its effect is spread over the whole twenty-four hours.

I prefer to call it my “steel sports watch with integrated bracelet” ... if it’s good enough for AP, PP et al. then Tudor is in good company.

Mine’s resting today whilst its sibling takes over.
