I seem to have acquired another traveller’s watch!

GMT watches - can’t leave them alone!

This one has been on the back burner for a while, but of course I have been away. I finally got it sorted last week and took delivery today.

It’s a Swiss 40 mm automatic with a dial in a favourite colour of mine. It’s a brand I have never owned, handled or to my knowledge even seen in real life before. And it has a rather interesting GMT feature, which is nothing like either the Ulysse Nardin or the Sealander.

I have been a bit busy today but I will sort out some pictures in the morning. Meanwhile, if you wish to have a guess go right ahead. 8)

You’ve mentioned this brand a few times recently, so my guess is this watch:

The gorgeous CyS Historiador, with the key of Havana as the GMT hand.

Err...no! :D

Nice try though. It’s not a brand I have mentioned at all in the context of a potential addition to the collection. Bit of a surprise, in fact, but definitely the way my tastes are going at the moment.

I'm stumped. I would have said CyS as well.

Looking back through your posts over the last year or so, Steve, the closest I could get is the new Brellum Wyvern; except that's 42+ mm (not 40mm). :-k :-k

Not sure that's much help.

Sorry Steve, when I saw the title I thought you’d arrived home from your recent holiday only to find someone else’s watch in your luggage!

^^^ Excellent, Gary!

It’s a bit difficult to guess. Very solid and sensible, not at all dressy, definitely a GODO/GADA watch (I did that just for you!). This seems to be the road I’m going down at the moment.

Pics later, but I’m on a busy couple of days.

Here we go. I’ve been asked to work today so slightly flying around (‘scuse pun). 8)

Glycine Airman Double Twelve. Not the 24 hour version, which I probably would struggle to cope with. Essentially a nice simple three hander with an interesting bezel arrangement. Bezel can be rotated to indicate second time zone (12 hour - currently showing East European Time). You then lock the bezel by using the crown at 4 o’clock, and it is adjustable to show any time zone in the world, even the ones with weird offsets. Another very legible and useful watch. Not a brand I had really considered until someone suggested it to me. It took a bit of thinking about but I’m really impressed with the quality and finish. I’m pretty well sorted with dress watches and chronographs now, and these GMT/world time watches seem to be the way I’m going these days.

I’m now a bit spoilt for choice with travelling watches. I might have to compromise my principles at Christmas and take two to Cyprus!

The dial is a lovely dégradé blue. I will get some better pictures out and about tomorrow, including the movement through the case back.

Very nice Steve, that’s a bit of a hidden classic there and IMO the degrade black/blue is lovely (and yes, I’ll agree a photo showing that particular detail is well warranted). I’ve looked at various 24 hr models and while very cool, the difference might well do my head in, so I can appreciate the 12hr version.

Mind you, you’ve had the Meistersinger for some time and you managed that, where I’m not sure I could; I once owned a watch with no second hand and it bothered me so much that I had a second hand fitted, don’t know how I’d handle no minute hand, so I’m probably not a good one for a 24hr dial.

I’m impressed with your growing range Steve; from small and gold to big and bold and all stops in between. GADA/GODO here you come…. and I’m hoping that’ll be the last time I need to use those terms. ;)

Thanks, Gary. I hardly wear the small and gold section these days, but will be keeping a couple of them. I keep saying it, but I think there is a bit of a sell-off in the pipeline before too long. Too many watches not being worn. As I have always said, I’m a wearer as opposed to a collector.

I would have never guessed. Very nice! I guess I wasn’t aware that this type of GMT setup existed. I like it! Looking forward to pics showing off the dégradé blue dial.

When I first joined the forum this watch would have been a light year away from something you would have worn! But here it is, and it really looks great. This is an awesome addition to your travelling collection

Colour me surprised!

If you asked me to make a list of brand and people matches, I have to say Glycine and AVO would be fairly well down the pecking order.

Having said that, it's a great watch. Congrats! :)

^^^ Totally understood! As I said in my preamble, it wasn’t a brand I had ever really thought about. I’m surprised myself but I really do like this one. Great size, comfortable and super legible.

Congrats Steve, although I would never have guessed like most others.
The blue gradient dial is definitely the pick of the range.

I glanced at this post this morning and couldn't think of many other ways to display a 2nd timezone other than what you've already got.
12 hour bezel did (very) briefly cross my mind, but I struggled to picture you with a modified SKX on the wrist.
