According to the video it's to celebrate 90 years of the Reverso. I guess releasing this overly-chunky non-waterproof effort ( :löl: ) now gives them 10 years to come up with something good for the big one.

I have just watched the video. Oh my god it is simply astonishing. Fair play to jlc. Could anyone else have done this? Who knows but what a thing.

Always loved the reverso, although I never tried one.

Already blew my budget this year on watches... One can dream though :)

Let me see... There’s the ten buyers of course, plus spouses, partners, children and most importantly there are ten bank managers who will see them safely tucked away in a vault somewhere....

I make it between 30 and 50 until one of them eventually goes on permanent loan to a museum. Or perhaps even an art gallery... it’s beautiful enough.

That is pretty amazing. It's fun to watch JLC show off a little. Always have to stop by their showcase when I'm in the shop.

Watchfinder & Co. makes the best watch videos in the biz, I think. Their stuff is what made me fall in love with A. Lange & Sohne.

As for this Reverso, I quite agree. It's just an incredible piece of watchmaking art. I love that it goes the extra mile (or maybe astronomical unit?) to make the cosmological connection, which is another enthusiast hobby of mine. The thing is just brilliant. This kind of stuff makes you realize that the Holy Trinity needs to make room for a 4th member. Or knock AP off if you want, I don't much care for them anyway.

Maybe I'll splurge on a Reverso after all. Got about a year to save up... :-k

Do it! I’d dismissed getting a Reverso out of hand because of the price. Then a forum member changed my mind about it by talking about the satisfaction of setting a goal and saving up for a specific watch. Now I’m thinking a retirement Reverso is in the cards for me.

And while I agree with you about Watchfinder videos (they’re beautifully shot and edited), I just can’t stand the guy’s voice! It’s something about his cadence and rhythm. Drives me nuts.

I have felt for some time that the Holy Trinity concept is a little old hat. Sure, they make consistently brilliant, exceptional watches. However, I do feel that there are other brands (not just the old historic ones but a few modern brands as well) that deserve recognition in the same breath. JLC is right up there, certainly in terms of special additions like these. Absolutely stunning.

Totally agree, Steve. But "old hat" is kind of the point, isn't it? AP, Patek and VC want to hang on to their place in history whether or not their current manufacture is up to it. I happen to be a big fan of VC, less so of Patek and AP has been totally consumed by their own Royal Oak craze. If you're gonna have a Holy Trinity, brands like JLC, AL&S and DeBethune totally merit consideration in my opinion. Especially JLC. Especially after something like this amazing Reverso!

Aw man, I like Watchfinder guy! I find his voice kinda soothing.

I feel like most every WIS I know has considered a Reverso at some point. How can you not? They're so cool and full of history. But I always find myself wary of spending that kind of money on a dress watch. My lifestyle and job just don't fit that sort of look. Which is ironic given the reason the Reverso was first created! But... I do want to own a JLC at some point and the idea of getting married with one of these on the wrist definitely appeals!

Having not met you in person, Andrew (yet, hopefully!), I feel totally comfortable insisting that you buy a Reverso to celebrate a good long career! So that you can enjoy it of course, and so that I can admire it at a NoVA GTG!
